I liked vega he’s fun and has a lot of potential . He’s another young headstrong solder looking for guidance from shep (grunt)I’m sure we’ll see a lot more of him .

He was cool, and pretty well done all round, something I did not expect. But I guess since he was pretty much a human replacement for a krogan, that really bummed people out.

I didnt like him as a character.... he was just another Human soldier to follow Kaiden and Jacob.

I did however use him throughout the entire game when i played as a Vanguard.

I loved Vega, he was a great asset to the team. I don't see why people jumped onto and didn't like him. Good comradeship, good "chemistry", and downright an actual good character in the game.

It's not easy being the new guy I guess :]

I only read the OP, but personally it's a stereotype that isn't even funny. It's on the verge of racist almost. And I'm White, but with a military background and I grew up in a diverse neighborhood. It just wasn't done well, I imagine those who did the ending had input on this character.

I liked him... but its the stupid new dialog system imo instead of being able to have a face to face conversation with him all the time (like you could in ME1-2 ) seperated him from the random NPCs... hallf his conversations are just you clicking on him :(

James was fine, its the new conversation method Biowares been ramming down our throats since DA2 that sucks

I thought the voice actor did a fantastic job with Vega and brought a lot more depth to him than a character like, say, garrus. His story about sacrificing his team to get the collector data, only for it all to be a waste was really good writing IMO.

I didn't like that either, I would have preferred the ME1 and 2 style of conversations, I am not sure why they did that.

James was surprisingly good for a character being introduced in ME3. As an Adept, I brought him in missions where I felt I needed a heavy hitter.

I liked him, it was nice to have a character who looked for the humor in everything. Upbeat people make me smile.

I like making him run out of things to say, then he just says "hey" in a Fonzie type way.
Hey hey hey hey hey. Never get tired of it.

But I actually do think he's a good character. More to meet behind the meat.

I liked him. Funny guy, good voice acting, "ordinary" kind of military guy, and nice too look at.

I thought he was a decent enough character who was introduced into the game too late just because if you got the worst results in the first 2 games and during the scene in ME3 with udina and ash/kaiden then you would not have enough crew.

EDIT: What I mean in Ash and Kaiden, Garrus and Tali wuld all be dead. Assuming you dont buy From Ashes, that leaves you only Liara and EDI without James. That being said, I feel the only reason they gave EDI a body was for the same reason.

To be honest, when I saw the character at first glance I thought he
would be lame but when I started playing with him, his delivery began to
grow on me.  He is much more than just a meathead as I've read on these
forums.  His delivery of his little quirps, and his yes's and no's were
quite entertaining.   I thought he was a good addition to the game, he
was JUST a grunt, not someone with a rough past and/or a leader/high
ranking member of a prior organization/gang (atleast from what I
gathered from the game) or a briliiant scientist with philosophical
knowledge so his dialogue was natural to me.

i agree, wasnt my favorite, but i certainly would put him ahead of jacob, zaeed, and kaiden.

Only bit of him I really liked was when he was joking around with Garrus. Other than that, he didn't do much for me. Wish he had been the DLC character.

I was actually pleasantly surprised by Vega. Wasn't sure what to make of him or Freddie Prinze Jr. voicing him but I think he did a great job. Still ended up leaving him on the ship more oftne than not though, but I did make a point of using him every now and then on side missions.

Like most human squad-members, Vega was just bland to me. He had some funny remarks, and interesting dialogue.. but he's just so boring.

I have always preffered the aliens in my squad, ironically they feel much more alive and interesting. Then again, I have always been interested in other cultures and ways of life.

Bioware kinda screwed the pooch on this one IMO. They have given us WAY too much human companions. Where was our Batarian squadmate? A squadmate who generally hates you  & your race, but allies with you because he sees the larger threat, would be a fascinating angle.

I had no problem with Vega. Actually liked that they introduced a character who was a bit different top previous ones. And during the game I had the feeling that he turned out to be quite a OK guy

The only annoying thing he does is call me loco but you can tell him not to. Other than that, he is a pretty cool guy.

I can't get why people complain he is incompetent because his squad died. One of the backstories you can choose for Shep is exactly that and in my opinion the most interesting one as it makes Shep seem to care more for his/her crew, and yes I play a paragon Shep with that background, I didn't care about the stats you get with each.
Why should that be a bad thing for Vega then?

He's one of the men I would actually romance tbh.

So having muscles and being slightly brown makes you a member of Jersey Shore now?

I think that's actaully kind of a racist comment honestly.

Vega turned out to be a bro, haters hated him cause of his looks and never gave him a chance after reading all the hater threads on Vega.

Garrus and Vega = Bro squad.
