Problem is the reset on everything including name and appearance when we promote our chars. Easy names are easier. Except if you plan to keep your level 20 forever but that gets boring. Getting there is a lot more fun than being there and experimenting with builds are cool. I never used the Reset Powers I got in packs because my chars get to level 20 real fast and promoting them does the same thing. =)

Human characters: Whatever surname first comes to mind, leaning toward sci-fi authors (Heinlein, Vinge, Shelley, etc.)

Most alien characters: Something vaguely themed to what that race's names sound like (e.g., Alina for an asari)

Krogan characters: Cupcake, Muffin.

I think we'd all probably spend more time on the names, if they actually appeared in MP. As it is, nobody sees them but us.

I named my human guys just random stuff and my aliens are named after the direwolves from game of thrones.

My Quarians are Quari & Aria and so on for the rest.

As the names are never seen, I mostly just give them a "classification."

Krogan soldier is "S-MK" (Soldier - Male Krogan)

Drell adept is "A-MD", etc.

As Sentinel also starts with s, I just change Krogan Sentinel to "S-KM"

However, for my quarian, as she is the one I mainly played, I named her "Sylvie", after a character in my comic.  When promoted, I regarded her as a new character and changed her name to "Norah", another character from my comic.

I would do that if our name shows up somewhere in-game instead of just cosmetic.

Almost all of my names come from a book series I'm reading.

My first Human Infiltrator was Mariah. . . I just like the sound of it.
My Asari Adept is Tynisa Tisamon.
Drell Adept is Achaeos.
Turian Sentinel is Thalric.
Quarian Infiltrator is Daria'Drefa (adapted from the character's name in the actual book, Dariandrephos, or Drephos for short.)

Same! I know my post is in this thread somewhere...

The names are part of the reason I don't like promoting--I like naming characters, so it's not so much that I mind renaming them, but I kind of wind up with ideas of who they are, what they do and where they come from and such, so hate to see what've become my characters go.

And because I don't wanna search for my post to see what names I've already listed, to add new ones I'll just repost them all.
