It's not an incomplete game, ME3 is an ending in its own right. The way ME3 finished was purposely done in order to implement future content. It is the last game in the series, so it makes sense to have big plans for the future of ME3. I see some people are already upset at that tweet... so now we don't want a change or clarification? Is the tweet still not reliable? I guess it makes sense for them to tweet it then never deliver on it... not. This is good news, and evident after paying attention during the ending - there is more. More ME3 - GOOD!
You make a good point, but they could have still provided more ME3 content by giving us more closure in the original game.

so they shipped out an incomplete game?
Nobody has shipped a complete game since the beginning of widespread broadband access. Patches = "I can fix it later, ship now for profiiiiitzzzz"

I totally agree. ME3 has an ending. It might not be the "true" ending, it might suck, and it might be confusing as hell....but it is an ending to the game whether we like it or not. I don't like the ending as it is but by adding on to it, I'm pretty sure I'm going to like it if it does end up being indoctrination. I prefer for all this to have been planned from the beginning than having the ending changed or another one made up and then being worse than the one we initally got.
I wan't as much Shepard as possible before she's gone for good...so more ME3 is definitely good.

Another fumble? So, I posted my own idea/outline for the ending of ME 3 that eliminates the starkid, eliminates the nonsense about organics vs synthetics entirely, gives the Reapers a MUCH bigger purpose, makes them into something of a good guy but not necessarily a good guy you want to win...this cycle. It allows for future Mass Effect games, allows different kinds of endings, not all of them bleak, barren. Not all of them with a dead Shepard and lost LI either. It can, or even should, incorporate Indoctrination. Give it a quick read and comment: http://social.biowar...5656/1#10706878

Cause if I just read that, I'm going to assume that BioWare is now committed to post ending DLC.

Except his appearance is much bigger than one would expect for a fanservice of very minor character. I mean, Morinth is just a named Banshee while some guy from trailer some people got excited about for 2 months is getting all this screentime? I don't believe so. When Bioware addresses fan memes/requests, it's usually some easter-egg, like "Prothy the Prothean" thing or calibrations. Not multiple cutscenes and all the talking how super amazing Coats is AND dragging him up to the beam. Even if it wasn't Nigel, what exactly is the purpouse of a character in this spot in the final act of the story other then a set-up for future potential DLC/comics/books?Jayce F wrote...

Huh? ME2 was support by DLC throughout a year after the release too. Not sure what's new in this info, we knew there would be DLC even before the game was releasedOdanUrr wrote...
I knew I'd read it somewhere!

Casey Hudson said that. Slip maybe?

Actually :
We never said we were changing it
and
We currently have no plans for the ending.
Are not incompatible.

It doesn't. It's convinient, but most likely not true. Why? Because "it was all a dream" is one of the most hated stunts in fiction. As simple as that. Don't believe Bioware would use it.Chrillze wrote...
It has all the answears...
But in this case it's NOT a 'dream'. The concept of Indoctirination has been there from ME1 and is an important concept of the ME Universe. So it makes a lot more sense than 'it was just a dream'.

First they are fending off criticism from both sides. Retakers and pro enders.
A pro ender asked if they will change, of course they deflect. This doesn't mean they aren't changing the ending or at least (sigh) clarifying.
Or
Because they genuinely aren't doing anything.

But it still boils down to "this part of the story didn't really happen" lolRogue1982 wrote...

Maybe this is what we have all been waiting for...
And we don't KNOW to a certainty that post-ending DLC (if exists) will necessarily be paid...
If it is, that's a different issue.

"It is unfortunate that fans felt there was no ending, but ME3 was never going to be the last of the ME universe.".
No need for closure for the end of Shepard's story indeed.

If it there are more games of Mass Effect coming out, then why the hell did the Mass Relay's have to be destroyed? I assume they are either talking about pre-Shepard times, or the Indoctrination Theory is correct.

We never said we were changing it
We have ALWAYS had big plans for ME3. It isn't a response-It's been in the works
So you deliberately released the game with an ending that bad? Knowing full well that you had a "plan" for content afterwards in the event that the ending, nay the game, just HAPPENED to bomb...not as a response, but a fully thought out plan.
Wow...
Best Xanatos Gambit ever!!!
