I swear BioWare has the worst PR of any gaming company I've ever seen. I honestly have never seen a company make this many missteps in my life. I almost feel sorry for them.

Yeah-- it was much better back in the old days when they let Gaider shoot his mouth off from time to time but didn't make any official statements.

It's funny how expansion packs were not accused of trying to make more money. DLC is basically broken down expansions, they are cheaper and easier to obtain. In the end you get as much content as you do with an expansion for roughly the same price. But it doesn't make sense to actually make sense on internet these days ;)

The thing is, expansion packs typically add on additional story that isn't necessary. Dragon Age Origins Awakening was awesome, but you didn't *have* to play it. Same with the Oblivion, Sims and World of Warcraft expansions. Shadow Broker, Kasumi, Project Overlord and Arrival were nice, but you didn't *have* to have them to experience the entirety of Mass Effect 2's story.

Does BioWare let the office gossip manage their twitter account or something? This isn't the first time the twitter account has made a post that apparently said more than they wanted known, only to be deleted or clarified upon later.

Good to know I paid $80 for a inco0mplete game andI will probaly have to pay $10 extra just to get the proper ending and other $10 to retake Omega that should have been int he game. Good job Bioware.

I may agree on ending DLC but Omega? That's like saying "I won't pay for LOTSB since it should've been in vanilla ME2". You do realize they can only create limited amount of content in a specific amount of time right? All games have stuff cut, but if it's used later in DLC like Liara's Shadow Broker arc got and Aria's Omega arc will be then I don't see a problem. Ain't different than expansion packs from back in the day

the difference is that, according to the leaked script, the aria mission was in the game and the shadowbroker dlc was made to bridge the story to ME3

@masseffect @PatrickWeekes did you feel pressured to change the ending, Isn't it important to stick to your guns on some things?

@satootaku We never said we were changing it :) We have ALWAYS had big plans for ME3. It isn't a response-It's been in the works

And then Chris later wrote this; http://social.biowar...859/10#10711784

Ah, right. I'm not surprised. They've always said they have had plans for the Mass Effect universe beyond ME3, and reqriting the ending could potentially set them back years.

Plus rewriting the entire ending for a trilogy would take a LOT of manpower and workhours.

Seems whenever the Mass Effect twitter says anything other than "how does that make you feel?" it gets deleted lol

Now now, we all say something on Twitter or Facebook, or here we want to take back. Unless you don't use those and don't understand it.

It gets deleted, or it's just plain false.

High-resolution textures are included on the disc!

Oh, EXCEPT THAT THEY AREN'T.

Both sides are at fault with twitter statements. Because BW seem to be extremely vague and the fans tend to 'read' it in a specific way. Then someone points it out, BW clarifies, fans rage, BW looks stupid, fans look stupid, repeat ad infintium.

As much as I think Gaider and co over at the DA team are unprofessional and arrogant (-my opinion, feel free to disagree =p) whenever they put out a post, at least you know what they're punching you repeatedly in the face with (as someone pointed out earlier.)

Hey! Gaider was way cool in the the days of the old Bio forums. We had quite a good deal of productive chats with the writers back then. As any DA:O fan will tell you, if you were there in the years before the game came out, you could find tons of stuff discussed on the forums in it. Makes you wonder what happened in the last few years....

So, we have this ME Twitter account talking about a very specific kind of content, or at least that is how it appeared, and then Chris comes here and dismisses it by talking about DLC in general? That doesn't make any sense.

That's BioWare's PR for you. Just ignore the masseffect twitter, it never comes up with any good info (and when it does, it is already everywhere else).

Chris:

People are reading the wrong thing into this. We have always had DLC plans for ME3. We said so long before launch. This is not news as ME and ME2 had DLCs.

This is not a comment about "endings" DLC, just DLC in general.

So obviously frakkin true. I blame this frakkin language called "English" so filled with ambiguity and equivocations. Always shenanigan the hell out of me. ME3 twitter account didn't actually said anything new here, but people just went OMGWTFBBQ because they can't stand waiting more than 2 minutes for novelties.

Then why the twitter got deleted?

Uhhhh...it's obvious you're reading too much into it. Seriously, everyone overanalyzes every little word Bioware spits out.

Can't you just quote them and link to the source, or take screenshots or whatever? I'm getting tired of all those Twitter links that just don't work.

As mentioned earlier, there is another thread discussing the miss-interpretation of that tweet here. Let's keep the discussion in one place shall we? Also, to repeat what Chris Priestly previously said on this:  "People are reading the wrong thing into this. We have always had DLC plans for ME3. We said so long before launch. This is not news as ME and ME2 had DLCs.

This is not a comment about "endings" DLC, just DLC in general."
