Eh, what Chris said.

But at the same time, it's unlikely the endings will change, no matter how poorly received they were. Sadly this is ME canon. Time for some fanon instead.

"fanon"... lol
I use "headcanon" myself.

Thats what fanfic is for lol.

@masseffect Please don't change the ending to Mass Effect 3. Just release what happens after I wake up from under the rubble. Great game! :)

@masseffect THANK YOU! It was hard to sift through the thousand news stories to figure out exactly what this all meant. Will the DLC be big?

@kylewritesstuff More news in April!

And this is why we're not going to get a good ending, IMHO.

Im reposting this, because it's the more direct answer i read.

It's clear they wanted to change the ME universe, but never wanted to explain it. They have until PAX April 6th. Unfortunatly it seems they are holding the line with their crappy vision. Which I won't be apart of if it works out how I think it will.

I will hold the line with my vision, ME with relays and an ending that makes sense.

Chris Priestly, you give yourself away with that devil face, my friend. BioWare's definitely up to something.

This goes beyond fanfic though.

It's when original canon is so bad, fans overall accept a new canon written by fans (because the fans came up with something better).

I'm just curious as to how that tweet was supposed to be interpreted as pre-ending DLC, according to Priestly. It starts out by saying they aren't going to change the ending. The next sentence just says they had big plans for ME3. And then it's made clear that fan response did not provoke what was already in the works for the endings (announced closure and clarifications?).

The question asked was about the endings, and the subject of the response addressed the same exact topic. Not DLC regarding anything else.

Thats where opinions come in. I thought the canon is fine as is.

If they were planning something big from the beginning then they really did handle this situation very poorly.

T'was a joke.

But if you were satisfied with the ending, that's cool. I think it was one of the worst endings to any story I have ever experienced/read/seen.

I will gladly accept fanon.

I think there was originally more to the ending that we got, the deleted scenes with Joker make that obvious, but they ran out of time. They will probably just fill in the missing pieces, and I doubt it has anything to do with indoc "theory"

I wonder if even Bioware knows what their going to do right now. Perhaps they are aurguing amongst themselves as we on the boards aurgue.

I hope every single one of the Indoc. theorists and "the ending is not complete" people get to say "I told you so" in April. Really. Because there would be nothing cooler than the unreliable narrator take on the ending and it would make everything make sense in the world again. Even so, call me Thomas the doubter, but I will wait until I see it.

THIS!!!  I'm really hoping for this.

People are reading the wrong thing into this. We have always had DLC plans for ME3. We said so long before launch. This is not news as ME and ME2 had DLCs.

This is not a comment about "endings" DLC, just DLC in general.

Chris why are you and other mods so quick to disprove misinterpretations and false rumors, but never say anything about the indoc theory? It would be best if the players had a clear understanding of what happened in the end.

ok I was commenting on the WORDS by the way. not necessarily saying "use" to imply that I BELIEVE in headcanon

anyways. its only fanfiction if its proven wrong. If not then it would be Bioware fiction with alot of people just not getting it.

The problem with your logic is this: they don't create the games for themselves. So if people are complaining about the ending....and they obviously are....it doesn't matter what they want to do. They aren't going to write the story they want, release the game, then go out and buy 2 million copies. You are extremely naive if you think businesses operate this way.

They aren't indie art students doing a week-end project. They work for a multi-million dollar company.

This one believes the modship has provided good discourse, and that all involved should be more accurate in their readings.

Come on ...  The ending was intentionally left ambiguous so more could be unlocked later through DLC's.  Whether it be Indoc Theory, Ultimate rainbow win, supermega grimdark, ride off into the sunset (then get shot by Marauder Shields because you didn't actually kill him), or more space magic...

It kinda backfired on them though, but I think the original plan was to sucker us all back in every three or four months with another DLC.  Of course they won't change the endings, they'll just add more.

Think about it for a minute, they can add more war assets, enlarging the pool.  They can tweak how the endings play out depending on your EMS - ultimate fail grimdark could be the new "just on the line" of EMS, and the super happy, high-five, brofist, Corona on the beach ending could eventually be achieved with a 20,000 EMS (with a healthy dose of reputation and in game choices)...

With EA, anything is possible...

Yeah, they made a story for you to play. Not demand them change if you don't like it. if people dislike the ending, that's their thing, but they don't have the right to ask them to change it.

So no changes to completely change the ending, but to slightly change it? This DLC better be free, the whole galaxy deserves a better ending.
