So they are not gonna change the original ending because there's no original ending yet. And, they had this planed before the actual game release.
Well Bioware, maybe I still love you after all.
i mean this HAS been said MANY times before now. I just hope more people will have this reaction instead of...
"well um I still hate you anyways for making me feel silly, hurumpf"
And if that's true, what of all the people who don't have internet connectivity on their consoles? They get to keep the "original ending". Yay?
If this is true, while I'm sure the ending would be more satisfying for me, I can't help but consider it a hugely bad decision to implement it in this way. It's screwing people over for no reason.
At least if it wasn't planned I can make the case they didn't screw people over intentionally.
Yeah, that's true. But I don't know, maybe we are looking to something bigger than a DLC here. Expasion disc maybe.
They actually mentioned "Additional Contents".. so who knows. That would be glad news for tha sad eyes.

Come on ... The ending was intentionally left ambiguous so more could be unlocked later through DLC's. Whether it be Indoc Theory, Ultimate rainbow win, supermega grimdark, ride off into the sunset (then get shot by Marauder Shields because you didn't actually kill him), or more space magic...
It kinda backfired on them though, but I think the original plan was to sucker us all back in every three or four months with another DLC. Of course they won't change the endings, they'll just add more.
Think about it for a minute, they can add more war assets, enlarging the pool. They can tweak how the endings play out depending on your EMS - ultimate fail grimdark could be the new "just on the line" of EMS, and the super happy, high-five, brofist, Corona on the beach ending could eventually be achieved with a 20,000 EMS (with a healthy dose of reputation and in game choices)...
With EA, anything is possible...
If so, being nickel-dimed will never feel so good. I am fine with being a red-headed stepchild this once if I can get a proper ending.
And I'm happy for you (I really am, no sarcasm there). I would have like to have seen a decent and solid epilogue (even something really basic, not the space magic carpet ride we were given), at least we would know that they put in "some" effort
But giving them more money after what they provided? meh, to me it feels real dirty somehow...

If this is the case then this would be the last Bioware product I buy. I'm of the mind that if you sell me a story, I shouldn't have to pay more money to get the 'best' ending. Nor should I have to pay more money to get a 'proper' ending.
But then, I've always said with the ending that in my case, the choice is between my goodwill for future purchases and my money now. If they choose my money now, well then I'll just have to say "goodbye and thanks for all the fish."
I salute you, sir.
EDIT:
They have people whose jobs mean they have to predict backlashes like
this. Why would they do this if they had foreseen the amount of outrage
towards the ending? Only explanation is that they though people would
like it and be satisfied with it. Seeing how bad the reaction has been I
think they would have told us already whether this was planned.
Even if this was a big plan, they handled it so horribly I don't think i'm going to come back to Bioware, if that's the case.
You too

@masseffect Please don't change the ending to Mass Effect 3. Just release what happens after I wake up from under the rubble. Great game!

@masseffect THANK YOU! It was hard to sift through the thousand news stories to figure out exactly what this all meant. Will the DLC be big?

or maybe they dont care about the plebs that have no internet on xbox, if you cant afford a few bucks for internet you prob cant afforda few bucks for DLC. They were never the target audience.
I didn't have internet connectivity on my xbox until I juryrigged it.
My modem is not where my xbox is to plug into. I am NOT buying a wireless connector for my 360. It's not an option to move the modem nor is it an option to move my 360. So, for a long while I had no connection for my 360.
Until I finally hooked my 360 into my laptop and shared the connection.
Point is, there's a lot of reasons other than "I dun haz those funky interwebz" that people aren't hooked up.

The real reason for all this is to give us the most interactive story in video game history. It's all explained here.

but they aren't making Bioware any more money.... so why should they care? Its not Biowares fault you dont have internet. Many games have the "internet required for play" right on the box. Even for sigle player games. Its just the way the world is moving. Digital sales are infinately cheaper then manufacturing disks. One day all these transactions will be done online.WizenSlinky0 wrote...

No thanks. They either give us the real endings we were promised or I will do more than rant and rage on this forum. Trust me I'll be doing something Bioware and EA both will hate.
Auch, that one feeled.. right in the middle.

Bioware isn't changing anything. Just clarifiying the indoctrination + giving more closure.
As planned, and intended.
