Cheap shot, no not really. Accurate statement. One statement implied was also directly in response followed by a statement that has nothing to do with the original question. ...Thornne wrote...

So, he says "We never said we were chaning the ending" ... which doesn't necessarily mean they're not, just that they never said they were. Still, I would guess 'not'.
And whatever they SAID they were doing in response to the fans' reaction to the ending was apparently a lie. Or this is. Because what he just said is that they're NOT doing anything in response to the fans, only what they've always planned.
Dear Bioware -- please get your story straight. I can't tell which one of your falsehoods is true anymore.
If you can't follow that in any terms go back to school. Seriously.
Cheap digs while missing the point? Check.
If you read what I wrote, you'll see the distinction I am making is not what they are doing, but why they said they are doing it.
One statement implied it was in response to fan complaints.
This statement said they're not doing the new content in response to fans, they've always had this planned.
So one is true, and one is not. And if they're not doing this new content in response to fan complaints, then I guess they always meant to clarify the endings.
a hell why am I wasting my time. Your an RTM moron. Doesn't matter whats told to you.

Of course they said they wouldn't change it. I found that obvious. But they are ADDING to it.
The Truth was planned all along. They just didn't expect the rage and outcry their terrible ending would garner. All in the spirit to push $$ DLC. Pretty disappointed in what Bioware has become so quickly after EA's acquisition. I expected it to maybe take an extra year or two.

They said they weren't changing anything like a week ago.
I believe it was 5 or 6 days ago when Ray posted on the Bioware blog.

You mean clarify?
Anyway, I'll reserve judgements until I see what they do in April.

I'm worried that's what this is too. I'm going to try to chill out and play games with decent endings that are included in their games, like it should be, and keep hanging out until PAX. However, if it's true and a 'true end dlc' is released as paid content, it won't be pretty.

I don't know about everybody else but I seem to get charged extra money for extra things all the time.
Sure you might think the Doughnut should have came with sprinkles in the first place but the seller doesn't. Is he making you eat the doughnut? Is there a shop down the street that does sell doughnuts with sprinkles included? go there then if it does. But yelling at the world to change wont do it. If i want extra cheese on my pizza, I expect to pay for it.

I like how they were really quick on the jump to classify that last "leak" as fake, but they haven't even touched indoc theory. It's hilariously suspicious.

funny how i read the same article and got a different take on it. If they said "we aren't changing the ending" then i'd be inclined to believe you. but thats not what was said. they said they would be giving "closure and explaination".
Nowhere there does it say closure and explaination can't be given along side additional story.

While that may have been the intention originally. I have to imagine any future use of the idea would be tossed out the window considering the reaction. BioWare has attracted enormous negative attention and lord knows these tactics would only add to it if publishers attempted to make it the norm.

Come on ... The ending was intentionally left ambiguous so more could be unlocked later through DLC's. Whether it be Indoc Theory, Ultimate rainbow win, supermega grimdark, ride off into the sunset (then get shot by Marauder Shields because you didn't actually kill him), or more space magic...
So let me get this straight, you endorse the prospect that they released an incomplete game for the sole purpose of later completing it with DLC which would potentially and probably be paid release?
Wow.
They don't deserve our money for this behaviour. Maybe you like being abused, I don't.
If I wanted this sort of treatment I would walk into the rough part of town with my money hanging out of my pockets and being abnoxious to everyone.
-Replace Kalisah with your wallet.
No, I don't endorse it. Especially if it costs us. Read the whole post.
Believe me, I'd go back to raging if they're scamming our cash for an ending.
Oh I read the whole post. Nothing has been confirmed from it either. Javik on your disc, yeah, cool story. That'll be $10, insulting the fans and calling them "entitled" in a perogative sense. Aye, you buy that.?
An apology for deceiving the audience and compensation would be great. After all, they already have our money. The money entrusted in good faith to deliver on promises made to their consumers.
You seriously are barking up the wrong f**king tree. Calm down a bit.
You... Me... We agree, get over yourself. Stop looking for an argument where there isn't one.
Or do I really have to explain where I'm coming from so five year olds can understand me?
Guess I will, seeing as you will just poke some more... The whole "From Ashes" thing, really should have been included in all editions... For starters. If the tweets allege that this was all planned, and IF it was all a big publicity stunt to generate buzz, the epilogue better be free, with some additional content for grief and suffering.
Otherwise folks like you, folks like me, and anyone else who "held the line", or believed in the "Indoc Theory", or the golden pony theory, or whatever floats their damn boat will do a 180 and burn these forums down to the ground with the hate and vitriol equalling the power of a thousand suns.
The fact is, look at ME 2, and all the additional content that we paid for. You don't think they're going to do the same? I found LotSB and Arrival to be pretty damn fun. I guarantee that they'll do the same for ME 3.
The problem though, is the ending that was shoveled down our collective throats. "If" there's an upcoming DLC, whatever it is, better be free. And for cripes sake, clean up the mess that's the ending we have now (or at least explain it in some frigging good detail too).
Once that is satisfied, they can add whatever content they want, including optional or wild arsed endings... Personally, I would have had my FemShep ride the damn Crucible all the way to the Citadel (with Magboots on, of course) bypassing the whole damn "Hammer" plan... (Do-do-do-do...do-do..do-do.. Can't touch this).
If you're still bitter over a possible publicity stunt, then no-one can help you. My suggestion, grab a cold beer (I'll join you... Here, have one on me), chill and watch from the sidelines. If BW delivers (I have my doubts, due to EA), then we can breathe easy and say "Yep... They got us good..." and talk about it some more.
Until then, I'm suspicious, and if they burn us by charging for a proper ending that explains WTF happened... Trust me, I'll be standing right beside you, back to raging.

I think this little incident has damaged any possibility of this happenning ever again if it turns out to be true.
I won't rage because I don't feel anger over the ending, I feel sadness. I don't care to rage, I just want closure.
