A common thread reappears through out the many of the ending theory discussions. That is, Bioware shipped an incomplete game and charging for the ending is (insert profanity here).
If, (and it is a big if) the Indoc theory or at least something similar turns out to be at least somewhat on the mark-then one could argue that the game was shipped in a complete state, with a complete and mostly fleshed out ending. And here is why.
ME3 stops becoming a story of retaking earth and stopping the Reapers. It becomes a story about a much more personal battle of commander Sheppard. The overarching theme of defeating the Reapers and saving the galaxy is still there as the overarching goal of the Shappard saga, but takes a side seat (not back) to Sheppard's battle against the forces that have been working on him since the series began.
If this is the case, then ME3 becomes an epic battle of wills between the Reapers and commander Sheppard. It becomes the overriding theme of ME3 and reaches it's conclusion in the final minutes of the game. That story is finished told. It is a complete tale-ending in either Sheppard winning or losing an epic battle. Not a battle of starships and infantry forces. But an epic battle of wills.
You could then argue, that the over riding theme of the series as a whole-as yet to unfold (defeat of the Reapers and salvation for the current cycle). Again, ME3 is a complete package that tells that story. It would be a cliffhanger (I personally hate cliffhangers in a non serial production medium-but that is another topic). But still a complete product with a story resolution.
It would then be at least resonable to suggest that if the final, desperate gambit of the combined races of this cycle is yet to be told-that we should fairly compensate the creators for that effort.
Then again, the ending could just be "thought provoking" in wich case........Hell no-keep your thoughts to yourself for now on!!!
