I came on today to see that the ME3 servers are down for some apparent reason. So I can't play Multiplayer right now
From Ashes uses some kind of DRM Akin to Ubisoft's "You must be connected to play" thing.
Long story short, because there's currentley no connection, I can't play SP or MP while the servers are down. because of the DLC saved into my campaign.
DRM on this DLC is totally unecessary, I thought better of you BW.
Severs are Down - Can't play SP either because of DLC DRM.

Did you try Offline Mode of Origin?

That worked for. but it still shouldn't be necessary for DLC that is for SP only. I forgot Origin had an offline mode, should have known since it's a Steam Clone, cough.
Case Closed I guess. but this was more of a complaint about DLC being linked through DRM, this has a lot of potential to get worse.

Still, having to have origin run AT ALL to play single player is idiotic.

You're lucky that you can play, mine got that "Online Pass Entitlement" thingy going on and can't play at all.
And so far BioWare still won't give any answer.

Take this into mind, what is Origin copying?djspectre wrote...

Personally, the reason why I think you need to having Origin running is because of the multiplayer component of the game.

Well it's not the fact on how technical you have to get to get Mass Effect 3's DLC DRM to work offline (disabling all adapters in control panel) if you put origin into offline mode, ME3 still searches for an internet connection and if one is not available, then the DLC fails to authenticate, which is draconic because you already purchased it you should have the right to use it as you see fit, especially if you don't have internet, BioWare won't answer to it, and people blame Origin but i have weapon DLCs on origin registered for ME3 and i can use those offline, so that's no excuse
