Yes I did and broke up with her. I am on xbox, but I will find an xbox save editor to help.

Breaking up with her and breaking her heart basically condemns Miri to death. So no matter what you try to do, because you broke up with her, she dies.

@MASSEFFECTfanforlife101 - i thought that you save her just by speaking to her at the spectre terminal, thats what the Prima guide says anyway ':/

If you are in a Romantic Relationship with Miri, and if you break up with Miri, you basically condemn her to death, no matter what you try to do. I FOR ONE will NOT break up with Miri, EVER! Like I said before, Miri is My One And ONLY Love Interest In ALL Of Mass Effect.

This is ****ing bull****. I'm really pissed off about this. I'm trying for a 'perfect' playthrough and breaking up with Miranda was so early on in the game that it's now not worth going back just to save her, which means it's no longer a perfect playthrough, which means it's no longer worth playing at all. This kind-of locked in stupid crap because of one minor decision early in the game is the biggest reason to hate this game. Forget the ****ing Catalyst, it's this crap that pisses me off the most.

I think the point is that breaking up with Miranda isn't supposed to be a "minor" decision.

Also, your decisions are supposed to have consequences.

It happened to me, too, on my first play through and I wasn't happy about it. Actually saving Miranda was my driving motivation to do the second run. But if you think missing this makes the whole game not worth playing, I can only say I disagree and I hope you find something you like better.

I heard somewhere you have to do Sanctuary instantly after Thessia to save her

It's a throwaway, once clicked done and irreversible and unchangeable decision that's badly designed at best and misogynistic at worst. The entire notion that your male-only LI will die without your love is incredibly sexist.

I don't mind having consequences for actions in an RPG. But idiotic **** like this just pisses me off. Sure, have a paragon decision kill her off (you decide to ignore her request in order to try and resolve the issue peacefully so she strikes out in anger and gets fatally shot), but to have it be one click in a decision that does little more than break up with her and has absolutely no foreseeable or logical relationship to the outcome is idiotic. Moreover it's right at the very beginning of the game and you don't see the consequence until quite late in the game. On top of that, it's completely unchangeable. There's absolutely no choice beyond that initial click of a button to change the outcome.

That's not roleplaying, that's just forcing an illogical, nonsensical, sexist option for no apparent rhyme or reason.

That's a really arrogant post. If you'd been paying attention, you'd know that I've played through it several times already and was trying for the "Perfect" playthrough.

Any inferred arrogance in my post is strictly the fault of the reader. It was not written with any sort of negativity, just the sincere hope that someone who isn't enjoying the game can find something that they like better. I know I certainly don't like feeling "stuck" with a game I'm not enjoying,

Also, nothing in your post really indicates you've played through ME3 previously. It reads as it you were surprised by this event. I would assume that, having played it before, you would know this is coming and avoid it, especially if this is some sort of "perfect" run. Don't people usually plan those out in detail? When I made my canon Shep I had her planned out from the beginning of ME1 all the way to the final credits of ME3 before I even picked up the controller.

Regardless, I don't like the fact that she dies either. I never viewed it as sexist, but it was one of the main reasons to make my canon Shep a female since male Shep could not romace both Ashley and Miranda and get a conclusion to that story that I was satisfied with. But I still find plenty of reasons to play and enjoy ME3, or the whole trilogy actually. If you don't, to each his own.

EDIT: to fix quote.

if you break up with her (if romanced), she will die. i can confirm that. and i believe the guide says so too. but if you reaffirm your love for her in the first convo, then switch li. talk to your new li before see miranda bout access. she will go to friend and survive. i think it a bug...

This is why FemShep rules. JK . But I am a Femshep fan. LOL my husband didn't romance Miranda  and didn't bother to help her and got her killed. lol . She always lives on my play throughs but I always play Femshep. Male Shep just seems like a giant douche to me. Good to know the diagram for this on Male shep though. I really love the complexity of this game and it's variations on decisions as far back as ME1. I  really have a hard time understanding all the hate on this game. Watched my husband play through the new Tomb Raider , and while I liked her revival character, the lack of choice impact made it a no play for me. Good luck on saving her next time around. Just an FYI. DO NOT use her as your barrier defense on the collector base!   sniff poor Garrus....

ps .. pls don't hate, I was drunk when i wrote this and more so now. But YAY love ME! ooo and DA :P

I have heard that this is a bug that occurs after installing Citadel DLC.  I haven't played through Horizon since I got that though.

Picking up the Saber is definitely not a problem if you don't have Citadel though.

Since I've picked up the Saber every time since installing Citadel and have saved Miranda every time as well, I can't confirm that myself(PC/Origin).

In fact, I've always managed to save Miranda, unless I chose not to (for a specific one of my Shep playthroughs)...

I read this thread before my recent male renegade play. never romanced her but gained her loyalty. everyone survived the suicide mission on this import but i sabotaged the cure and put wrex down on the citadel. I talked to her on docking bay and spectre terminal but was never given the option to give her alliance intel. did the n7 mission after thessia. intimidated henry into letting ori go and miranda warped him through the glass then lived. go figure i thought she def wouldnt make it.
edit; also picked upall the weapons through all available dlc.

Dunno if anyone said it here already but if you do not break up with Miranda the first time you meet her and start a romance with another squadmate before meeting her a second time she stays alive, too.

You are definitely correct. In fact when I want to get back with Ashley, I dont break-up with Miranda - I just lock-in Ash and Miranda completely forgets about the whole thing. I just can't let her cry or die.
