@TheMadHanar. Speak for yourself, The bar in heaven is gonna be stocked to the nines.

.....Will there be Jager?

Cuz if there's Jager I'm so in.

You're in luck. The Jager is specifically foretold in St. Paul's letter to the Corinthians. Unfortunately, the bar in heaven does not permit Jager Bombs.

An....acceptable compromise

I knew you'd see reason. Although right now, I myself am partaking in a Lenten fast from alcohol, so I'm suffering from major withdrawal.

Never like Ash, her personality rubbed me the wrong way, never really seemed to think for herself (though the same could be said of other squadmates, though in different ways) but rather simply reacted to things that happened, gut reactions, usually based on something she was told as a little girl and simply never learned to critically think about things for herself. Always seemed like something was stuck up her ***.

As an aside, she really reminded me of the girls I hated most in high school a decade ago now, and who now are soccer moms who parrot whatever talking blurb they saw on the news last, like a lot of the "Sheltering Suburban Mom" memes.

When it comes to the other human squad members, I like Kaidan...usually. He comes off a bit too touchy-feely in ME3, but aside from that is mostly fine (though shirtless in the hospital apparently they decided that using He-Man and shooping Kaidan's head on was the way to go). Loved Zaeed and I wished they'd had more of him, his Jesse story was an astounding piece of work. Kasumi likewise could have been very cool if fleshed out more but alas was not. Miranda was an excuse for fanservice, disliked her character as much as Ashley but for different reasons. Jacob had some inklings of being interesting but was overshadowed by the "super nice but still tough and hilariously over-athletic black dude" stereotype. Jack as a character seemed out of place, like she would have fit better 5-10 years from where she was, and never seemed too useful on missions. Vega was...there? Not a bad character, just not a terribly interesting one.

The non-humans were a similar mixed bag. Garrus and Tali were always great characters, Liara a bit too distant a lot of the time. Thane had an interesting backstory but was otherwise rather boring to be around. Grunt was completely one-dimensional. Wrex was better I think in 2 when he wasn't a squadmate. Legion was great but his presence was far too short. Samara was...there, interesting but ultimately felt fairly irrelevant. Edi felt forced sadly. Javik was super cool, as was Mordin.

Of them all, Ash was my least favorite, Miranda following in 2nd.

I happened to like Ash, I understand her mistrust of aliens its HUMAN to not trust things that are different until you get to know them, I found her to be a tough, strong no bull woman, and I like to see that in my games, same with Miranda watch her give a single **** about what you think about her. I liked her more then I liked Kaiden who was so... soft I thought he might cry on my Femshep's boobs at anytime, but I liked him nonetheless, he was just... you know a good guy... no harm in that, he was like that boyscout mama wanted you to bring home but you're like... "What would we really talk about?" I also liked Jack for that matter I thought that as far as character development went and showing emotion they had Jack pegged it was brilliant... also Jacob, he was a nice dude, just tryin to do the right thing, and I probably would have had him be LI but.... Garrus...

But back to Ash, being religious doesn't mean you're a zealot it just means that you chose to believe in something higher then yourself, its a way people put their world, themselves and in this case the universe in perspective there is absolutely nothing wrong with this, and all those who hate because of it ought to take a good hard look in the mirror! And the Tennyson its just plain awesome alright and whoever it was who said that they thought it was just someone trying to sound smart sheesh... read Ulysses for yourself come on Space... the Iliad the connection to her father... Awesome sauce right there... at least she had a freakin backbone.

Whatevs haters gonna keep hatin'

Just wanted to say the best line, for those who missed it.

Tali talks about "may having to come up to shepards cabin" and sexually hints and hints at shepard basicly RUBBING it in infront of Ashley, and Ashley goes like "Shut up please" haha.

Edit: If I remember right its:

Shepard: I care deeply for the quarian people (hinting at Tali)
Tali(flirty voice): Its good to be back on the Normandy.
Shepard: let me now if its to quiet... and Ill find you someplace *louder* to sleep.
Ashley: maybe you could talk about this when we're not on a damn Geth Dreadnought.

I have actually never saved Ash on Virmire, like Kaidan too much for that. But I will start a new FemShep in ME3 with her sometime just to see get to know her a bit. It will be interesting to see how she has grown up from ME.

Have seen that Ash and Tali har got quite a bit of jealousy-banter. Does anyone know if there is something like that for Kaidan and Garrus?

It's the "...I can't tell the aliens from the animals" line that sticks in my craw. And it is even more telling in ME2 if you Vermire her, because GNN has to misquote her in her memorial just to make her palatable to a multi-species audience.

If she had simply left the distrust of aliens at The First Contact War, like Pressley, I could shrug and move on. It is not unreasonable to distrust people you were recently at war with, especially when there are negative repercussions for your family in particular. However, when she goes a step further and "dehumanizes" them with dialog that wouldn't have been out of place coming from a slave-owner, that's when she crossed the line into 'racism', in my opinion.

Seeing as how she's never really had any experience with aliens before, I let it go.

At least, I did for ME1 and ME2 Ashley.

ME3 Ashley is so bitter and stupid that I'm going to go back in time and let her die on Vrmire.

I dislike Ash's arrogance in ME3...setting aside her "distrust" of Shepard despite him having saved her ass on Virmire and Horizon...in ME3 both Admiral Anderson AND Admiral Hackett completely trust Shepard yet ASH apparently thinks she has better judgment than two Admirals...and then she proceeds to show her stellar judgement by backing Udina - one of the most duplicitous dirtbags in the Galaxy - She is arrogant, stupid, and unappreciative...
