If EA ever got its hands on Rock* I think I might truly give up gaming forever.

i find it odd that just a few days ago the guys at r* talked about there multiplayer where you can import your max payne 3 charachter into and play i even made a thread on it in off topic

then this happens to pop up afterwards?

keep in mind gta 5 still hasnt announced a release date yet

OMG another game you can import things in?  CONSPIRACY!

i dont use that term for the gaming indusrty

i just think its to much of a coinisidence that this is going on thats all plus even having a history being on record saying they want to do it 4 years ago

BIOWARE/EA Battle Drones...

That wouldn't be strange, I've heard rumors about people posting in forums acting like everyone else but they are actually paid by EA to praise the game. In fact I've heard suspicions about a few people around here, even one who has already posted here but since they are suspicions and nothing concrete there is no reason to name anyone. Of course EA isn't the only company that goes arond doing this sort of thing.

what is with BSN believing conspiracies posted on 4chan?

mass firings after ME3 and TOR "failed"? Uuh TOR has a ton of subscribers and is decently successful as MMO's go. And ME3 had a bigger launch than ME2.

EA is making tons of money off Bioware right now. Sure they are a giant evil conglomerate but jesus BSN lighten up a little.

Because other fake 4chan story topics are locked, not deleted.

This thread hasn't been deleted yet... and this "viral marketing" guy that worked from home isn't saying anything credible enough to get anyone at EA scared.

You've all been trolled hard - he may have marketed virally for EA but he's like the mailroom clerk at Goldman Sachs, not enough power to know anything

If they delete this thread it will be like announcing "WE'RE HIDING SOMETHING!!!"

They'll probably let the thread go on for a bit so they can watch us all SPECULATE then lock it saying its spam or something.

Tons of companies do this, they dont have enough money to pay everyone that has nice things to say about their product though.

Seriously - I thought the ending was really awful but I have the common sense to understand that a viral marketing grunt doesnt know the ins and outs of his employers dirty laundry.

Well, that was just flat-out depressing. Can't say I'm surprised though. What ever happened to good honest business and winning hearts by actually giving out a quality product?

okay time for another metaphor to get you guys to see how ridiculous your conclusions are.

this guy knowing EA's insidious business strategy is like Hector the Orderly at the hospital I work at knowing the inner workings of our Board of Trustees... EXCEPT LESS BELIEVABLE.

Think of your own jobs - how many of you even know what you boss is thinking? And how far removed is he from the company leadership?

Shouldn't something like this be bigger news? I know it could all be faked but it should still be getting more attention. People need to know what EA is doing and has been doing over the past years.

Really, people are surprised that stuff like this was happening?  I thought it was pretty much a given, to be honest.
And I seriously doubt they're the only company looking to use social media to sneakily prop up their companies.  It's the world we live in.

thats the nature of the NWO for you, its all about screwing the people over, and giving the elites more power. What we are seeing here is just a small part of how the machine works, and how completely dishonest it really is. The problem is if you keep digging, you will find out that it just gets worse and worse, and how wide spread it is, and the depths of depravity some of these elites are into, i mean real creepy, medical horror movie, orwellian type stuff. the kind of crap that will give you nightmares for the rest of your life.

THIS as we see here is just the lower level just trying to screw you out of your money crowd. the real nasty stuff is the kind of stuff the reapers would do.

This kind of bullcrap is all over every entertainment industry. TV, music, movies, videogames, etc.

I used to think the music industry was the worst about this kind of thing, but for the last few years, game companies like EA have really gotten blunt and forceful about their dastardliness.

Whe EA may act like a stereotypical evil corporation out of an 80's action movie, I find it hard to believe that this lowly viral marketer knew of anything in the enigmatic land of corporate leadership.

went out along with platform shoes and free love.

seriously, why do you think people often say the 80's, specifically, the Reagan Era is when America basically went to sh**.

These are practices that have been going on THAT long, and because of the propping up of businesses and the extending life through aquisition instead of organic growth, creative book keeping, and trading on margins and all that sh**. It allows a corporation to continue engaging in these practices because the essence of it is, keep passing the buck along until it physically can't be passed, like a demonic game of musical chairs, keep playing until somebody deals with having no chair.

I think in a few months or maybe years big gaming companies like EA and Activision are going to very nearly collapse into themselves like the American automobile industry

Produce sub-standard products long enough and people will bring their money elsewhere, which is why GM needed a bailout and both Ford and GM started making cars that could legitimately compete with the likes of Toyota and others, I think ME3 was a tipping point for a lot of us and we will be spending our money more wisely.

Let the gamer awakening continue. One day these companies will look at us as Customers first and Fans second and stop believing we will just throw our money at them.

its not as enigmatic as you might think, the truth the real truth behind the biggest corporations is this, and it is a great secret yet simple....

its all smoke and mirrors.

what i mean is, they make you think they know what they are doing, even if what they are doing if illegal, immoral, etc. but the truth is the criminals of today are stupid, and while that would make you ask, "well if they are so stupid then how have they managed to get away with it."

its because YOU assume people are smart, critically thinking and observant, and they are none of those things, not anymore. You have been socially engineered that way by society, to look forward, not ask questions and do as you are told.

when you have a society like that, there is no need to lock the doors because people have it in their own head to restrict to where they can and can't go. the truth is, this guy probably was able to get access to this stuff because it was proverbially "lying around."  for anyone to find.

See when you "on the inside" its much much easier to get information because the vast majority of compartmentalization and information protection policies is to keep people OUT, and in fact the more you structure it to keep people OUT, the easier it gets for someone on the INSIDE to get access to it.

Someone working as a viral marketer isn't anywhere near "the door in" so to speak.  This guy worked from his house, was probably fired because he didn't care about his job, and went on 4chan to vent about his former employer.

Holy crap this thread just got philosophical.
But anyways, just because my friend is an accountant does not mean he knows all the top level financial twists. Often the rumors he gets through the office like our mysterious marketer are wrong and are a result of incorrect information spreading like wildfire.

Exactly.  I'm not going to argue with the guy because he types like a high school kid that thinks he's discovered the secrets of the world, but I think we're giving a guy paid to go on twitter, 4chan and facebook to talk about videogames a little too much credit.

The problem i have with Occam's Razor is that in the statement at the very beginning "All things being equal." the problem is all things are not equal. it leads to pragmatic thinking which while useful in some cases, should not totally override the possibility of a extraordinary explanation.

And the convenience of the extraordinary explanation to your own suspicions should not override the possibility of a far more probable boring explanation :D
