Updated weapon stats and MP enemy defense pools-July 4th balance

Looks like the secret to making any high fire rate, low damage per bullet weapon effective on gold is maximum armor penetration. Its armor which is killing SMG and Assault Rifles.

I have a hurricane 2 and the only way to make that gun competetive is to use AP ammo 3 and smg rail amp 3, however when those 2 consumables are used that gun rivals some of the other top guns in the game.

But back to armor weakening, I wonder if it effects powers like nova and incinerate.

Bang, bang, bang, bang, run to side. Repeat every 20 secs. When I say point blank I don't mean the brute is literaly hitting me with it's claw.
I mean close enough that all the pellets from the scimitar hit the brute at centre of mass, which is pretty close to point blank.

It was a bit like this video:

While Harpoon Sniper can't penatrate wall using AP mod, shoot Riot-Shield on Guardian still one-shot kill him

1) Don't know. Haven't tried it.
2) Widow X =1083.8, Javalin I = 1030.5

Tested with:
Krogan with powers reset, Reapers Gold.
Against a Brute the Scimitar X (extra clip+smart choke) took 220 shots from point blank range to kill it without any AP mods.


your krogan common sense should've made you realize you were using it wrong...used as a club - normal melee attack ignores DR - would have done the job a few times faster :D

Are the weapon stats correct for SP too? i have noticed some weapons weigh differently and do different amounts of damage, if not is there somewhere i could find out? im on 360 so i cant check the Coalesce. file and i certainly dont trust those stat bars.

The weapons should be the same in SP and MP, but Shepard probably has a different weight allowance.

I suppose so, however the Vindicator in SP weighs the same as the Avenger in SP however in MP it weighs more, the falcon also mantains its original fire rate and the javelin is still slightly weaker than the widow.

Well BW were handing bans out to people who ran MP with a modded file because the MP could be affected. I dunno how it works on xbox.

Oh well i guess i can use the MP balance changes thread to help compare then, though i wish the particle rifle stats could be found(Weren't they on the spreadsheet before?)

Is it better to charge the GPS or just fire as many shots as possible? What will take out large armored targets faster?

It takes a lot longer to charge the weapon (for roughfully a double damage shot ) than it takes to fire 2 uncharged shots ...

Saw a video of a Geth Engineer  using GPS on gold today ...


1. Get out of sight (or in cover)... reload GPS // recharge shields (geth drone) // charge up GPS
2. dart into the fray - unload charged shot , unload rest of the clip (ASAP ), overload eventual survivors  - GTFO 
Repeat step 1&2 ad nauseam

This seems a very (most ?) effective way to use the weapon - High Bust of Damage in short periods out of cover ...

Yes, first charged shot to stagger, rest of the clip kills, run to an ammo box. At range however you should charge as charged shots track nicely.
