I've set Origin to be Offline when I play the game. however, there have been a number of times when I've quit the game only to discover that it's suddenly connected online even though I haven't told it to. This is a major issue with me; when I tell the program to be offline, I expect it to stay that way until I set it otherwise.
Origin randomly reconnects during gameplay

From experience, when Origin detects an connection to the internet it will connect otherwise it will stay off-line.
I don't see how this could really be an major issue unless you have an limited download/upload limit in which case, a firewall or simply having no connection would resolve the problem.

The problem is that I need to have origin running to play the game. I do not want it connecting to the internet so I set it in Offline mode. If it decides its going to randomly and independently decide to connect to the internet without my direct intervention, I do not want to have Origin on my computer. I decide what gets to connect to the internet, not programs themselves. I can't use a Firewall to block Origin because, again, I need to have Origin open (but not connected to the internet) to play the game.
A program that connects even after you've told it not to sounds suspiciously like Malware.

Solution= PeerBlock goggle it. That's what I use to make sure programs like that try to connect to the internet.
