Hi there :)

Hope you don't mind my sharing that I've just finished my first play through and I had such a good time - but I'm also a bit sad of course!!  I managed to be queen and I would have liked to have been able to do a bit of 'ruling' but I guess the story has to end somewhere.  Do you think I'll be able to begin Dragon Age 2 at the point of being happily married to Alistar and being queen?  I don't think they'll let me .. anyway..

So, are the other story arcs, for the different races and classes, significantly different that you think I can happily plough straight in again or should I wait a bit?

I know there are some stalwart folk out there who've already played it about 50 times :) so what do you reckon?

I enjoyed the game 4 times completely and am finishing the 5th playthrough now and will be heading into number 6 but i have not decided which race, class and spec i will build yet. While with every play through there are subtle changes in story arc, the biggest rush is figuring out what roles your party members will fill and how you will do the fights utalizing them in thier roles. I have played a city elf tank, a human noble 2h warrior, 2 mages one was a heal bot the other was DPS, this current run through is a human noble tank but going for a different ending in the story arc. While re doing certain areas over again may seem tedious for me it is figuring out how to play the new rols i have decided upon and building the party around the tactics. There are several story arc outcomes that can be explored, and are avaliable only to certain races, so trying them all out is my goal at this part.

Enjoy

Glad to hear you enjoyed the game!

I agree with Asaiasai regarding how the game changes depending on your choices, both at Character Creation AND throughout the story. If I may make a suggestion, I'd strongly recommend starting a female City Elf next. I found it to be a very compelling, very emotional Origin.

Have fun on playthrough #2!

Thank you so much for your replies (I thought perhaps I'd asked a daft question and that I wouldn't get any!) I think I just partly wanted to say that I'd finished and that I was feeling a bit sad about it.

On your advice, I've started again, but I've started a mage elf which covered a few new bases for me.

Actually, in a similar vein to your 'I need a hug' thread, You Are Here, I've just noticed that I don't really have the responses I want this time around - I want my elf mage to be a bit wide-eyed and naive and for people to act accordingly. Do you know if the player mods will be able to add dialogue and things? I hope so, just so that it will be possible to diversify your characters a bit more.

Anyway, thanks again for your replies! ^^

I'm on my 5th playthrough
These are the things I did
1.Rogue (Assassin/Hunter) Dwarf female commoner w/ blonde hair
2.Mage (Spirit healer/Blood mage) Elf female w/ black hair
3."Dark knight" warrior (Reaver/Berserker used 2H weapons) Human male w/ brown hair
4.Arcane warrior Human male w/ black hair
5.Rogue (That doesn't suck this time) (Bard/Assassin) city elf male w/ black hair

Changing gender and hair color spices things up too

Always pick a diff class race and gender and hair color for every save and it should be fresh

I need to try that sometime lol

I think an arcane warrior or an obsurd stealth/poison & traps rogue could beat the game solo perhaps , a warrior I think not unless they just had 999,999,999 health potions

AW can solo the game rather easily on nightmare with the right build. Solo Rogue is a bit harder, but still very doable. Warrior just can't do it on nightmare.

If you have completed the game with full team it's really refreshing to play solo. A completely new experience

Yeah my AW became invincible at lvl 16

I actually couldn't solo Gaxkang even on normal , but if I had glyph of nuetralization it would have been totally possible

I just looked at the epilogue of my first playthrough and thought about what to try differently the next time. Let the werewolves convert the dalish, support Behlen, let the city elves be slaves, ****** off your companions etc. There's a lot of content worth seeing if you're willing to play for it. Much more than just playing the same kind hearted hero/heroine with a different outfit, makeup and weapon of choice.
