For the people complaining that it rips of red letter media remember that he mentions it in the video himself. Doing it in the style of the plinkett review also accomplished a very important goal. It associated it directly with a logical breakdown of legitimate problems with a sci fi franchise and it makes a 40 min review watchable.

I think that could've been easily accomplished without directly mimicking the style and, to some extent, the content of the Plinkett reviews (the "worst thing since my son" photo, the end music, to name a few).  The content was the focus and I think it could've been showcased without using the "Redlettermedia-style" format so blatantly.

Again, don't misread what I'm saying here:  The review itself was FANTASTIC.  The format in which it was presented?  Not so much.  But that matters little when all is said and done.  The point was brought across nonetheless, and I hope the message is received in the way it was intended to be.

I never thought that i would accept (not to mention wish for) a green ending. You sir are a wizard and the only thing i am dissapointed in is that i cannot press "like" button few thousand times more.
Kudos on investing so much time and soul into this and for explaining it all so perfectly.

Nowhere near as good as Plinkett. You can tell it's an imitation. Plinkett is much more objective, something many people don't get, this review was biased in many points.

And yet much more articulate and analystic than most commentaries given in favor of us, RME. We need more of these.

You can tell it wasn't plinkett from the style? What tipped me off was when he went out of his way to say he was ripping him off.

It was far more of an homage than plagiarism. Imitation is the highest form of flattery. I have no problem with this.

FWIW, I have no idea what Redlettermedia is and have never seen anything by them to my knowledge. I watched the whole 40 min vid you posted and found it excellent; the only issues I had were minor editing bits (the "wrex. shepard." back and forth was drawn out waaaaaay too long, especially considering the length of the video). So it being a copy of some other style was lost on me; I had nothing to compare it to, and it stands perfectly well on its own.

Just make some of the jokes shorter. Brevity, wit, etc.

Yeah, so this was probably the best video I've seen on the subject. I agree that less is more.

But they could give us the option of destroying the kid...kinda like a Jar Jar destroy option would make most of the pain of episode one go away--no matter the other flaws....

Plinkett? Objective?

That was a joke, right?

Apparently, someone posted earlier that Plinkett tweeted in response to a question about Mass Effect 3, "stay tuned".

So, we might have official Plinkett on the way.

This was great. I've seen the Plinkett reviews, and I really enjoyed this homage to them. It takes real thought and effort to put something like one together. Love little details, like in the "We must stop" part, the line for Cars 2 is "We must stop merchandizing revenue from dropping in FY2011"

If there's anything they should listen to, it's the statement at the end that they need to take out the Star Child. There is no amount of "clarification" that can redeem it.

I would hope so.  I also hope it's a joke to even imply he can or should be "objective".  You cannot write a review/critique and be objective...objectively you can only make observations.
