What it means to be an artist, probably. Something about importance of "integrity".

See, that's the problems with the endings: they weaken the integrity of the entire franchise.

Couldn't agree more Cheez.

I really hope ending DLC will be discussed at PAX.

I just hope we get some definite answers. Between cryptic Twitter messages and vague official statements, I personally am losing both patience and interest - and I never thought I could lose interest in Mass Effect.

No Walters or Hudson?

Still, the quality and relevance of the information should be enlightening, one way or another.

Which will only send a message throughout the gaming industry that by executing a poorly made ending, can easily be 'perfected' by the release of a paid DLC later.

On the other hand they can impress the hell out of the fans and then straightforwardly address the elephant in the room from the word "go", and show concrete evidence to ending "tweaks" / "DLC". They can pick up on any number of issues mentioned on these boards and then address them and describe precisely what their plan is. And then they can tell us precisely and very concretely how they plan to move on from here. It would be the "Proactive" (hate that word) thing to do and it would show the fanbase that they arent fumbling in the dark but they have a plan.

I think this is what most here want and expect to happen at PAX.

BioWare, please be straight with your fans!

Is he going to explain why Bioware lied about the "varying" endings as a marketing strategy? Is he going to explain who in the company thought it was a good idea to take a franchise that is arguably a masterpiece set of work and destroy it by slapping on AN ending with a new character that only has 14 lines?

Or is he just going to "clarify" how "great" the endings are and if us fans weren't so entitled and stupid we'd be able to understand that?

If the Mass Effect series was the Mona Lisa, the ending of ME3 was a great big dog turd slapped onto the lower right corner.

HAHAHA...No, no they wont. We're just going to have to accept that they will never address the lies and false advertising because there is no way to address it that makes them look right and us look wrong

well apprently its a subject you know nothing about

Upholding promises, standards of quality, and important core messages?  Not acting all high and mighty about it when you goof up big time?  Having the courage and humility to work hard to restore lost honor?

PATRON: I just want to say, I'm so happy you finally finished that series of portraits I asked you for!

ARTIST: Yeah, I really went all-out on the last one.

PATRON: No kidding!  Your personal style has really...  Wait.  What is that?

ARTIST: What is what?

PATRON: That brown stain right in the middle of her face.

ARTIST: Oh yeah.  I pooped on the canvas.

PATRON: WHAT!?

ARTIST: It's a statement about the ultimate futility of existence.  I think it's pretty deep.

PATRON: STATEMENT?!  I PAID YOU HUNDREDS OF...  IT'S RIGHT ON HER FACE!

ARTIST: Yeah.  Pretty daring of me, huh?  Makes me feel like a rebel.

PATRON: Please tell me this isn't the actual piece.  You're going to clean it, right?  Or do another one?  Or wait, this is a joke; that's not actually your poop, right?  Haha, funny.  You're funny.  But seriously, I can't accept this.  The rest of your work was perfect, but this is just--

ARTIST: Hey, don't go telling me how to do my job.  I'm an artist, man.  You're stifling my creativity.  Now where's my money?

This post just made my boring and hellish day. I can't thank you enough.

Probably going to say something along the lines of "a tiny minority group of morons didn't understand our masterpiece ending, we are disappoint. And now - MP DLC!" + MUCH icing of course.

who's really the artist here? The guys at BW who gave us a marvelous magic paint box, or the players who took those tools and made their own unique creations. The BW team amply deserves credit, recognition and accolades for being master artisans and craftsmen - the artistry, I submit belongs to each of us.
Net - I'd like MY  artistic integrity respected, please.

actually bioware are the artists and if anything we are the students buddy
they gave us the tool to do what we do did they not?
but i guess to some people : looks over and whoever it was i quoted* they would think my reply is insulting

If we are students then what have we been taught?

They SOLD us the tools and a semi-blank canvas so we could make OUR art. The supplier of a tool is NEVER the artist they merely made it possible for the art to be made, and in this case they gave us a canvas that alredy had the final touches... all we GOT to do was give it all the minor details and stuff

not insulting just incorrect.

Slyguy200 has it right - all the blather about BW's Artistique Integrite misses the point - no one is screwing with the dialogue, messing with the art (OK, JeanLuc's texmods represent an improvement, not a revision) or subbing in new characters and plot lines.  Most importantly, no one is offering competing versions of the ME components or holding them out as alternatives.

BW has provide the paints, puppets, metes and bounds, and the broad rules of the game -> makes your choice,  takes your pick.   What gets created in the process, in your subjective experience is your own, unique, personal creation - by changing the rules of the game in the final seconds, BW has damaged its own creation as well as trashing mine.

Without the player's creative contribution, the multiple ME universes would not exist.   EA/BW may assert property rights as grounds for reneging on the fundamental tenets of the game - but they cannot defend their right to do so in the name of protecting "their" artistic creation.

Who is to say but don't count on this panel/meet to be anything but a cordial meet and greet, in most cases, they hope people whom are there forget what the real reason they are attending just because their in the presense of a Developer - and thus they can contain and control the conversation.
