Ashley was a squad leader on Eden Prime but she was following someone else's orders. If you have subtites on at the start of the game the guy you see talking in the SOS is a captain.

In the opening of ME2 Mrianda losses her station and everyone under her command, so much for being able to read people.

Jacob survived so that's not everyone. And more importantly, she saves Shepard's life, which is more than Ashley has done.

Miranda brought you back to life,

well, its not like SHE brought you back, more like cerberus investing absurd sums of money into your resurrection

If you watch the vids on TIM's base in ME3, they make it pretty clear that the Lazarus team wasn't making much progress until Miranda took charge. IMO, that speaks to her importance in bringing back Shepard.

The only companion I liked less than the serial whiner was the token ethnic guy, Vega. Those two would have worked well together. Ashley could have jabbered on about random nonsense, whining the whole while, and James could have called her whatever the spanish word for "Whiny and annoying ******" is.

I'd have to go with Miranda. I got a lot more use out of Miranda as a squad mate than I ever did out out Ashley. I mostly used Wrex as my tank in ME1.

On a personality level. I'd still have to go with Miranda. Trust me, daddy and self esteem issues are way better in the long run than Ashley constantly seconding guessing and nitpicking you. With Ash you wouldn't do anything right. Plus she'd never let you forget any mistakes you make. Even though she abandoned you on Horizon she still moans about how it's your fault.

In the end, Long legs, dark hair, and a soft accent. Yes please..And I'm a girl ;)

Miranda brought you back to life, fell in love with a male Shep and made no judgement upon him for his work in the alliance.

Ashley doesn't do anything unless she dies on Virmire. But she doesn't so she becomes useless. She becomes distrusting of you and becomes a total annoyance until midway through the game. Miri ftw.

And what kind of things does the Alliance do that calls for judgement? There is also a line where Miranda says something along the lines of having spent the last 2 years learning everything about you. The only info Ash has for all that time is 'Shepard is alive and working for terrorists'.

Would you just forget everything if you found out your lover went from fighting said terrorists to working form them after having been thought dead for two years?

Ashley dies in one bullet (Udina's coup), Miranda - not so much (Collector base). Miranda is also a biotic. Therefore, she wins.

And it's not like Ashley had an entire mission to get to know Shepard whom she obviously holds in high regard. The Alliances and the Council weren't doing crap about the Collector attacls. Cereberus actually went to do something.  Now she has a right to be skeptical but she completely dismisses you, claiming yourself to be as bad as TIM when the SR2 crew was made up on entirely good people minus Jacob.

Miri also hates the alliance akin to Ashley and Cerberus but doesn't care at all that Shepard rejoins them since she knows Shepard knows how to get it done.

Yeah anyone can die from a single bullet.
It's ppl hate on Ashley cuz she didn't trust Shep after he worked with Cerberus.
Umm, didn't Miranda follow Cerberus? And all they wanted but not until far into ME2 did she see the light?

While Ashley was a relatively nice person in the first game (yes she has some xenophobic tendencies, bu Renegade Shepard wasn't much better), in ME 2, her chewing out and turning away from my character was a 'Scuze me honey, but I was DEAD!" moment. Even after you explained things, she pretty much flat out called you a traitor and turned away.

Sorry, But I'll hang with the Baroness Miranda. She might not be the most easy to get along with in some instances, but at least she is supportive of you. And her confession in ME3 about what she could have done does show a spark of true decency.

Sorry ash, but you turned into a jerk face after slamming the door in mine after coming back from the dead. I'll go with the 'bad' girl in this case because frankly, she's a better person to me than you were

Miranda quitted her high ranking Cerberus job for Shepard!!! what more can you ask for in a girl. While Ashley, knowing how screw the galaxy is, couldn't even try to understand why Shepard worked for Cerberus and treated him like crap in Horizon. And them, after all the times Shepard saved her, she still complained about Cerberus, knowing that everything Shepard did was for the greater good. So yeah, I prefer Miranda, besides she is Yvonne Strahovsky!!!! again, what more could you ask for??

If you are a total dick on mars, yeah Ash does not respond well. Mrianda does not respond well to douche Shepard eaither. If you are nice on Mars the trust issues are gone after the mission.

Mirandas dislike of the Alliance is due to their politic, Ash hates Cerberus because...you know they kill innocent people.

Ashley Williams and her "Boom Stick"
Shepard argued with Ash the entire Mars run, but still brought her that book from the gift shop.
I would surmise friends do at times go through hard times with each other. The distrust Ash felt was warranted as well as Shepard telling her to "get over it"
The issues they both had with each other were easy to put aside when Ash was severely wounded on Mars.
I thought Miranda was okay in 3 though, not as cool as Ash, but okay.

Cerberus kills people, lots of people. Not just aliens but humans.

Shepard might not have been in line with the rest of Cerberus but he still worked with them. Spent 2 years on a Cerberus medical slab and its not like someone posted a vid of Shepard giving TIM the finger on the extranet. The general public has no idea what went on, all they know is Shepard worked for the same people that caused Akuze and many other things.

I imagine it would've looked like one of those strange fights in the movies. Y'know, the ones in which they hate each other at first but then start making out all over the place.

ME3 really needed more Ashley and Miranda.

I honestly wouldn't have given a damn if the entire ending was just replaced with ads for new EA games if that had happened.

another Ashley vs Miranda debate huh.

Ashley wins. Miranda chews on some disruptor ammo and catches a well-deserved boot to the face.

Udina was no fool. He knew full well what Ashley thought of his Cerberus friends, he also steamrolled Bailey into his new job. It seems to me that Udina was setting the coup up to fail from the inside.
