In a physical confrontation Miranda would decimate Ashley. People seems to underrated Miranda as a soldier because, well, she certainly don't look like one. But it's said time after time how effective she is the battlefield... hell, she can handle Kai Leng.

Neither should be discounted on the battlefield, but I think their effectiveness comes from different approaches. Ashley strikes me as the very straightforward shoot them until they stop moving type (which is something that she is presumably quite good at). Miranda I would say is more of a tactitian, and is the more cunning of the two, and I'd wager she's much better than Ashley at identifying and exploiting weaknesses (and she's a powerful biotic).

Ideally you'd want to have it all in one package, which you could argue is Shepard.


But really, underestimate either of these ladies on the battlefield, and you are in trouble. Ashley is the more "obvious" threat though I guess.

I don't think you understand how much of a badass Miranda is.

Ash devises inventive tactics to avoid auto-turrets, lure Cerberus troops into an ambush, manages to survive a beating that would kill most people, and was able to protect the Council despite the rest of the Council's bodyguard being taken out. Miranda survives one Cerberus assasin because she knew he was coming. If she didn't know, she dies.

Shepard proves the falsity of that statement. The man's been hit with more biotics than a maiden's lover, but he's still standing nicely. Miranda's biotics are so weak she didn't even damage the Eclipse Captain in her loyalty mission.
