The video was harsher on the indoctrination theory than I meant to be. I actually think it's a cool theory... I just don't think it's what Bioware intended. I also hope it's not what Bioware intended, because it would just be a terrible way to treat your customers.
It makes perfect sense. If you attack the very foundation of the story, its storytelling, you call into question the relevance of alternate interpretations of the story. You've managed to invalidate the ending, and by extension make indoctrination theory unnecessary.
Indoctrination is a cool theory, yes, but it's no different than playing Jaws backwards for a different story. It gives us no new insight on the plot itself, only an "alternative universe" version of the plot.

That is true. I don't mind being fooled in a video game, as long I afterwards am told that I was fooled . If the indoctrination theory is true, then all of it should have been included in the main game, not released separately. I mean who the heck would sell the last chapter of a book a month later? No one, that's who.Yougottawanna wrote...

holy christ 40 minutes?
That was my reaction, but, while he's no David Attenborough or Morgan Freeman, it was a very good watch.
Nicely done.
*edit* I also cringed when he mentioned the Indoctrination Theory because I knew people would still try to defend it.

I just loathe the idea that they might use their chance at fixing this to do something like add a few epilogue screens without fixing what actually undermined the entire trilogy.

But he's wrong. Lots of Stories end on unexplained cliffhangers.
He's wrong about a lot of other things that just really come down to opinion. I don't know why you guys think he's so great. He has some points, but mostly it's just personal bias.
The guy actually understand genre, and plot structure and is pointing out why the ending is awful.
Why the ending was awful to him. No matter how bad a ending truly is there will always be someone out there who likes it and interprets it differently. Now I myself am not a strong fan of the endings, but they are in no way broken, they just don't end like we had hoped.
They are clearly broken. End of story.

Bioware says they check out threads and listen, so speak loud enough, they should peek into this. Even tho the title of the thread isn't that interesting. (Kinda sounds like some kind of scam.. somehow).

Nice video. Someone should tweet the video to Bioware staff.
A good suggestion. I tweeted it to @masseffect, so will see if they notice at all. Even made an account just for that. Silly me.

Getting rid of Starchild is necessary? You can have this kind of character in the end, but not how Bioware has done it. If BW improves SC it might be okey, but I agree that removing him would be easiest way to fix the ending.
But I doubt BW would do it. They have an ending and they will stick to it. They might FIX it, but they don't change it.
Imho it would downgrade BW even more if they changed the ending. Just improve it to the level we have seen in other parts of the game. It doesn't require much.

I think that asking them to remove Casper the Genocidal Ghost is asking too much, but this video made me realize that it would, in fact, fix so many of the issues.
Simple...yes. I doubt they'll do it

People, don't be put off by the length, it's really very good!
I think there should be a meeting at Bioware where everyone watches this!

Can we supply copies of this vid with the cupcakes? Casey and crew really really need to watch this.
GREAT IDEA!
Someone message the organizer and have him burn some copies to go along with the cupcakes!
