He's wrong about a lot of other things that just really come down to opinion. I don't know why you guys think he's so great. He has some points, but mostly it's just personal bias.

Not only are these hilarious, they are some of the best videos I have ever seen on WHAT NOT TO DO in writing story. I think every screenwriting class should show these.

The guy actually understand genre, and plot structure and is pointing out why the ending is awful.

I like Indoctrination Theory but he nails it on the head - if they release it like that not only will the fanbase that wasn't in favor of it goes crazy in rage but the media has the easiest headline of all time:
"Mass Effect 3 Faked Its Own Ending"
All they have to do is give the player the ability to either defeat the Reapers, get their ass kicked by them, somewhere in between, or submit to them. Sure, it's A,B,C, and D, but that's better than pick a color and OH HAI STAR CHILD

Why the ending was awful to him. No matter how bad a ending truly is there will always be someone out there who likes it and interprets it differently. Now I myself am not a strong fan of the endings, but they are in no way broken, they just don't end like we had hoped.

Once again a fan comes along who is very articulate and knowledgeble and gives a very clear, precise, and detail driven summary of why the endings were bad. And still I feel like Bioware wont listen.

How very insightful and intelligent. Why are people with Krogan avatars so antagonistic?

You're right they're not broken.
They're completely broken.
Did you see the part about narrative coherence? That part is truth. Unfiltered.
There are so many questions about what the hell just happened that you couldn't list them all. That's broken.

I disagree.
I think there is such a thing as an objective failure of a story from a writing point of view. You are right, people can like poorly written things, but it doesn't change them from being technically poor (from a literary sense).
And that is what this guy is pointing out.

No It's SPECULASHUN, as Bioware put it. You may not like, I may not like it, but it's a valid form of storytelling.

This is seriously one of the best replies to the ending I've seen. Scratch that. It's the best reply.

I suppose it depends on how you're discussing it. From a plot hole point of view, it's poor. From a cliffhanger/Grimdark ending, it's perfectly valid.

Yeah, except it's not what the guy's saying. He's saying (rightfully) that they changed the whole focus of the story in 14 lines of dialogue.
