Return this bug-ridden game to the store and get your $50 back so you can spend it on something more worthwhile like a hundred cans of chicken noodle soup.
This game crashes more than any other game I have ever played in my life. And to make matters worse, I have emailed "tech support" via the "official website" once per week the last three weeks and haven't gotten any response whatsoever.
EA, you suck at your job. Take that. Not only did I return the game, but I called the company and left a long message regarding their great ability to suck. Hopefully they got the gist before pressing the delete key and moving on to the next hundred customers that don't matter to them.
***Fix for constant crashes, crashing, freezing!!!***

C'mon people, if two guys came up to you and said:
1.) I can keep you alive for over a month (3 cans per day for 33 days, plus a bonus can)...
or
2.) I can entertain you for 5-10 minutes at a time, after which I will cause you unbelievable anger and annoyance and not tell you why...
Who would you pick?

let people decide for themselves. Not everyone experiences the same problems you do, so running around like a frantic priest will only earn you the image of a fool.

Given that the game hardly crashes at all for many people, it's more likely to be a problem with your setup.

People should absolutely decide for themselves. But if they have any issues, they shouldn't count on the company to back up it's product.
And I would welcome an email that says, "your setup is the problem, not our game." Unfortunately I haven't had the privelage of a response from the people who created it.
Double zing!

EA support being rubbish surprises you? You must be new.
Why are you ranting here anyway? If you want help ask for it, no one who matters will read your rants.

Could try updating PhysX drivers. Make sure your CPU and GPU aren't overheating. They're pretty terrible so they'll be at 100% all the time.
Other than that, well, you're below the min specs for the game, so the game not running properly is pretty much to be expected.

How do you know so much about my rig? I absolutely blow the minimum specs out of the water, so that can't be it.
I do appreciate the advice on the PhysX drivers though... I will give that whirl. But it seems to crash at the same spots all the time: coming out of side-plot areas (like the warehouses in the main cities), loading screens for movies, backtracking to areas that have been cleared, sometimes just walking around... it is pretty consistently every 5-10 minutes though.

Sorry, that was an old post- I need to update that. Though it actually ran just as well then...
Windows XP, Intel E4500 @3.0ghz, 6GB DDR 800 RAM, NVidia 9800GT, Creative X-Fi Gamer
I will close rant-city... I do appreciate you trying to help. I found a loooong thread of people with the exact same crashing/freezing problems so I will try my luck over there.

I would appreciate if you post the link of that thread here, more data we get about this issue, the closer we will be to finding whats causing it.
I've posted millions of posts about this across 10 different forums. I wasn't able to isolate the cause. Even completely different systems with completely different software gets this issue, AMD, Intel, nVidia, XP, it doesn't matter.
Don't forget to check this thread. http://social.biowar...58/index/367581

I started to get crashes on my system, so i started to monitor my computer a bit closer and it turned out that it was my quad core CPU that got overheated in large detailed areas and not what you would expect the GPU. so i went in and cleaned it. i still got the overheat warning led red when playing in most areas but it's stabile again. i need to get it cooled down further or i will endup with a dead computer sooner then i would want. and my system is above recommended. so you should really check the ´temperature of your system. So it's not the graphic card that is getting the worst hit for some reason.
