I'm not going to ruin the game for anyone but the game is pretty dam epic at times.  The cut scenes of battles are done well.

But its freaking hard as hell.  I mean so hard that I went from Normal to Easy because it was getting so frustrating.  Easy seems to be a little to easy but Normal is insane.  But for you guys that like a challenge this game will give you a challenge for sure.

Don't think I have ever played a game that is so hard on a Normal setting.  Maybe its the character I'm playing (rouge) but its pretty intense.  And EPIC.  On easy for me the battles are more enjoyable because you are not swithcing from Party Member to party member giving potions heals.

Fun game so far though.  Hate the camera though. ;)

I fully agree that the game is quite hard on the "Normal" setting, but that's probably because I don't have a whole lot of experience with this type of combat system. I'm sure Baldur's Gate (or any D&D based game for that matter) veterans will have no problem getting the hang of the combat, but it's a slow process for me thus far. I haven't dropped down to "Easy" just yet, but I've definitely been tempted to at times.

So, compared to BG1 and BG2, it's harder?

That sounds great, it will give a sense of acheivement when succeeding in the larger battles. I will lose interest with an overly easy game before I will with an overly hard one.

Hopefully it will remind me of the Quickload -> Die x 10, days of old games.

People just don't design difficult games anymore.

Yeah, I decided when watching the Warden's Quest coverage and heard they were playing on Normal that I'd be playing on Easy. I'm glad to hear it actually isn't too tough even then.

Same here, I'm Mexican therfore very stubborn at times. lol. I'll tackle somethign again & again in agmes even fi I beat it some times i just want to master it perfectly. I'm sure the game will be very challenging but i've played a lot of RTS games & many hours of BG1 &2 GB:DA, Champions of Norrath, Champions:Retun to Arms, Titan Quest, & a bit of Sacred 2 not all the exact same genre but similar D&D feel with most of them.

This for borderlands. My revolver 1-shots almost everything which made the game terribly boring.

Sounds like my Berserker,  even though he is a berserker full spec'd in Brawler + a little Tank I still tend to use my revolver to kill stuff.

I can attest from personal experience that even the origin bosses will curbstomp you on normal, if you don't make good use of all your abilities.

LOL I posted a response on this topic 30 mins ago and still has not shown up. LOL talk about my tiiple post being a FAIL.. This forum is a fail.

Anyway something else that concerns me just a tad. Doesn't bother me but lots of dialog in this game. I think I spent 2 hours in dialog chat of the game, and maybe 2 hours of actual play. Now that does not bother me, what bothers me is that they say 80 hours of gameplay. Well I already had about 2 hours of talking, does the dialog count toward the Gamplay? If so then actual gameplay time might be considerably less then what they say at 80 hours. Of course that is marketing for you.

No. It's your definition of gameplay.

Bioware is known for making story and dialogue heavy games. Granted, DAO seems to be a step up even for them, but a lot of people want it to be pretty much like that. In any case the game is what was expected. It's not like you're just watching hours of cutscenes. The dialogue trees are interactive and what you say matters.

So can you change difficulty all the time, or just in the beginning? =)

I am playing on hard, and well the difficulty lives up to its name indeed :) It is little bit too chaotic for my taste, but I guess I can get used to it soon. Kinda surprised that combat reminds me more of a MMO than Baldurs Gate though, but no complaints here. It's great fun.

Yeah game is good fun. Only time I had to lower the difficulty was in a massive battle in warden's keep that was simple too much for me. I've managed to plough through everything else on normal though even if I had to reload a couple times.

I will say this though, keeping a healthy stock of potions is nigh impossible.
