Well, I tried that, but that didn't work for me. I just fiddled around with the custom creator until I got a face that I was satisfied with.
I say, for an advice on how to make a satisfying custom face, pick a nose, hair style, eye shape, or any physical features that you want to center around with and mold the face around that. That's how I made my custom faces.

But you should really try to make the faces your own. It adds to the experience of starting your own new adventures.
