Just wondering how does the missions play out if you have not got Legion in ME3 because of him dying during the suicide mission, do they have another Geth you talk to or something?
What happen's if Legion died in ME2?

Well I don't have the heart to kill Legion but I was able to give him to Cerberus in one play through, and he still appeared in ME3 as a hologram or something... Basically Legion but with glowing green lines over the hole in his chest.
I'd assume it's the same if he's dead.

According to the Mass Effect 3 wiki:
If Legion did not survive Mass Effect 2 or was sold to Cerberus,
its role in Mass Effect 3 is replaced by a "Geth VI" constructed in Legion's likeness,
though it will be referred to as "Geth VI" for the duration of Mass Effect 3.
If Shepard decided to sell Legion to Cerberus in Mass Effect 2,
it will appear as an enemy in the Cerberus Base.

Kinda like how the Rachni still appear even if you killed them in ME1 ¬_¬
