I'm pretty sure everyone understands this is purely hypothetical. No way that EA would allow another delay of an AAA game, especially one as hyped as this.ManualReplica wrote...
Oh you guys still think that Bioware makes all the decisions.
I see.

The biggest ME of the saga made in the shortest period of time, I just can't see any logical explanation to that ... Ah yes Money!
They took care of everything appealing for the casual crowd (faster pace gameplay, MP, huge space battles ...) but forgot what makes the essence of Mass Effect.

Rush it, force it down my throat and tell me at the end that I should buy another drink to support their "winery art" and all it does it leave a very bitter taste in your mouth.

The game is released when it's released.
When they delayed it last June, I was bummed, but nothing I could do to stop it. (Yes I would had waited)

Absolutely, but I want to point out a few items.
Mass Effect 2 had roughly the same development time and came out in many consumers as the best in the series. However... Something was added to Mass Effect 3 that was not in 2.
The Mass Effect 3 engine can be confirmed as being completed as early as January 18th 2011 as that is when the Mass Effect 2 PS3 version released, and utilized the engine.
That gave Bioware at least 14 solid months of development time AFTER the engine had been built. Now factor this in...
Cut Scenes are done independently of the meat and potatoes of the game. These had over 2 years of development time to implement. The primary complaint of Mass Effect 3 has been that the ending is horrific... so really...there is no excuse.
There are DEFINATE shortcuts that were made in releasing this game.. Gee, what was added to the franchise and completely unnecessary? Thats right, MULTIPLAYER!!!!!
So I guess its only fair to point at multiplayer and say, why bother with that, when you could have been worrying about more important items like you know... the ending, and the future of the franchise....yuck.
Many also point to the character models looking worse in 3 than in 2... again... resources and development time were wasted on Multiplayer so that EA can release map packs, and weapon packs for more profit...
Ultimately EA and Multiplayer should be cited as the reasons other area's were cut from.
This is my favorite franchise... I would have waited a decade.
totally agree

You can tell when a product is rushed; however, that the same product is not well like if it took five years to do either.
This has more to do with the ending then anything else because even if it came out 5 years later, the same conclusion could have been written.
Again, I would have waited, but I still could've gotten what I have now. If they "re-release" it, I would definitely get it, but I'm not expect 5-10 discs either.

We gamers are use to waiting, Half Life Ep3/StarCraft2/Deus Ex HR
Think long term, I know ME3 will look good on your ledgers today but down the road with the people you have spurned with DA2 and now ME3, a lot will not be buying DLC, a lot will not even be buying DA3 or what ever your next game is no. I know I didnt buy any DA2 DLC
I would like to point out that I'm not just upset about the ending (I am) but also things like the journal, the one key for everything, the lack of ME2 teammates having proper roles in ME3 (some did, others did not), the lack of variatey amongst reapers. The scanning sidemissions....

If it were any standalone game, I'd be satisfied with what it is. I probably wouldn't buy it personally, as I dislike the direction the third one went in and feel it departs from the genres I play, but I'd be satisfied that it was a great game. But because it's following up on the previous two installments, it needs to be so much more, and therefore it becomes a poor sequel.
TL,DR: It's a great game if considered on its own, but a poor addition to such a powerful franchise.
Fainmaca Out.

Problem was that game got shifted from developer to developer, game reallly wasn't relevant to audiences in the now.
Mass Effect 2 2010 = Mass Effect 3 2012
both by Bioware

As much it sucks waiting forever you know Blizzard isn't twiddling their thumbs their making their games as good as they possibly can be.
I wish I was excited for Diablo 3 because I know its going to be polished and a full game.
I wish "we'll release it when we're done" was the norm instead of a deadline.
