Of course I would have.
Hell I'm enjoying a second playthrough right now.
Do I dislike the ending? Yeah.
Am I going to let that ruin everything else about Mass Effect, and even just Mass Effect 3? Hell No.
I'm going to enjoy my game and hope that what BioWare ultimately dose makes things work better.
Would You Have Bought ME3 if you knew?

Nope. I only bought it because I believe what Bioware said in interviews.
Hold the line for as long as it takes to get new endings.

I did know. I was on the spoiler group where the Space Edition was played through, nearly twice before the release.
I still purchased it, still don't regret my decision.

Honestly I would have just rented ME3. With the way things ended I just don't see the replay value for me. It's multiplayer isn't all that great for me because there is no pvp. It's just a glorified horde mode.

Not really no, id pretend this series was like Shenmue, the last one never came out.
So id skip the whole thing and go straight to the imagination part instead of my closure XD

I would have bought the game just not on release night and not the collectors edition. Besides my comic was ripped.
For me I would have waited until Steam had one of their big sales and purchased it for $10.00 or less.

I'd have waited when the price dropped to 15-20$ on thehut.com
Instead I spent 65€ to buy the collector edition here in italy

Does anyone wonder is the leak was an act done on purpose by one of the ME team members to fight the idiotic "endings"? A quiet / rebellious effort to get word out that the ending was pathetic?

Woah this thread's big now.
On topic: The opinion seems to be pretty evenly split.
Hopefully they'll get yet another inkling of an idea that the "minority" is really not a minority at all?
Cause even those who said they'd buy it hated the ends. (mostly.)

Yes. I had heard nothing but how bad the endings were before my copy arrived in the mail on launch day. But I still had faith in Bioware, and thought it wouldn't be all that bad. Maybe on the level of unsatisfying as DA2's ending was, but not out-and-out horrible.
I envy that idealistic blind faith I had only a few weeks ago.

I wasn't online to avoid spoilers, but if I knew, and the ending would be changed in april or something, I'd wait for that.

I wish I woud have known, so I could play the game up until harbys lazer beams... then I would have uninstalled and speculated about the ending. Never knowing how it ended would have been a much better alternative than being exposed to Biowares artistic integrity ending...

Honestly, Yes. At this point and stage I have a certain emotional investment to the Characters, Shepard's cause and the Universe, it's like reading an amazing book but not reading the last few chapters, there's a real need to see things through to the end. One way or another I had to buy ME3.
Of course the real irony is that's why I'm disappointed with ME3's end, it's like reading an amazing book only to find that it ends without a proper ending and all of the characters you cared about and all the things you cared about and all the themes that the book was about where never mentioned again, they just sort of disappear and your left with jibberish.

Lol! Same here, tho think that not only did I spend the extra money for the CE, but also wasted my precious vacation time, only to be so disappointed after seeing the ending that I feel into depression...

I cant really properly reply, as I spoiled the ending for myself with that thread thats over 2000 pages now "So we cant get the ending we want?" and still bought the CE hoping the journey would outweigh the destination. Turns out, at least for me as an Ashleymancer, no, the journey does not outweigh the destination. I knew the ending and still bought the CE, I feel really dumb right about now.

No, I would have waited for a ending fix. If not I would have head cannoned the ending.

Yes 100%. Even IF people said the ending sucked, I would have wanted to see if for myself.
Plus I have over 150 hours invested into ME1&2 so of course I would want to see ME3!
The only part of ME3 that I disliked was the ending. (plot holes).
But now the question is, will I pay for a DLC if one was to come out.
That I cannot answer yet.
This only I'll be buying the dlc. why not i've already bought all 3 games with all the dlc for them, might as well finish what I started.

If I knew that Mass Effect 3 would ruin my desire to play 1 & 2, of course I wouldn't have.

This. I am almost always a late adopter to products. I like them to be completed, relatively bug free, and well reviewed before I purchase them, generally.
And lo and behold, I let my trust in Bioware convince me to pre-order this time. Bad idea.

I wish I had known before I bought it. At least I would have been prepared and probably would have been less disappointed. I really really hate the whole segment with the StarChild, but I could live with it if BioWare backed up more of his nonsense with more information and made Shep have a little more backbone while discussing the options. And certainly get rid of that disconnected Stargazer segment and show the surviving characters living in this new galaxy created by Shep's choices.
