Would You Have Bought ME3 if you knew?

Was I disappointed with the ending? Yes, yes I was.
Am I sad I purchased it? No, I am not.
When 95% of the experience was still everything I could have hoped for I can forgive a mistake or two. I would have liked there to be a trial at the beginning; I though the fetch quests with the scanning were mostly dull; and I thought the ending changed the entire focus of the games and came completely out of left field.
But the experience as a whole was awesome and if they do change the end to something more in line with what it should have been, this will go down as the greatest video game franchise in history. If not, it was still worth ever cent I paid and every moment I spent playing it. (I really liked the after-credits bit, so I'll even play the end again in subsequent playthroughs, though I'll probably leave the room or read a book while it actually plays out)

Since the game did such a great job of building up my hope and dashing it at the end, and has left me pretty depressed for weeks, I probably wouldn't have bought it if I had known all that. *snip*
This is a great point - I find myself wondering.....If I had KNOWN the emotional torment I would go through would my opinion be different?
Yes, I wanted to experience the game myself, but if it came with the price tag of what I've been feeling since finishing it, would that have swayed my purchase?
I'm a curious sort, so on one hand I'd like to say I would have wanted to experience it myself, (which I already posted I would buy it but not a CE or at the expence of a weeks vacation) BUT if I could have KNOWN how deeply it would effect me......hard to say.
I rather liked it before when I enjoyed ME1 & ME2, could play them over & over again. I liked relaxing after work via my video game fix......haven't done much of that since the ending of ME3.
It may seem melodramatic but I really haven't had any interest in gaming overall, not just the Mass Effect series, since the endings. THAT is something I would like back. I have a Star Wars xbox console pre-ordered that I've been looking forward to but with my recent lack of interest in gaming....I'm now doubting that purchase too.
But at the cost of never buying/playing ME3? I'm still not sure about that one.

That, madame/sir, is a truly great answer. Thanks again.

Problem being no one forced you to open the thread and flame us.
So yeah, I'm not gonna really answer any of your questions..
And I hope s/he wouldn't either.

Even if the ending gets fixed it won't be the same, the feeling I got when I finally ran down to the beam after a 10 hour gaming session is lost forever.
The only thing that can potentially redeem Bioware is a real expansion that provides atleast 15-20 hours of gameplay, anything less will feel like watching an alternate ending to some movie on youtube.
And I thought I did everything right, avoided news and spoilers about the game (the only thing I have read about the game before release was that interview with Casey Hudson about the great variety of endings), then I just checked the rating my favorite gaming magazine provided (90 %) and saw the words that would translate to "awesome ending" in the review. Well it wasn't.

Funny thing, I was thinking the exact same thing earlier today.Segameister wrote...
Does anyone wonder is the leak was an act done on purpose by one of the ME team members to fight the idiotic "endings"? A quiet / rebellious effort to get word out that the ending was pathetic?

So regardless, I'd buy it. Yeah, I like the ending, but don't love it, yet even if I hated it....I'd still buy the game. Absolutely amazing and it shouldn't be getting low review scores as some people want because of one flaw.

I think it was stated by Bioware that out of like 10+ writers, 3 wrote the ending.

I posed no question, so I was not expecting an answer. But it is flattering that you are still trying to cope with my opinion 10-12 pages later.
Regarding questions: it is very telling, that in English (and most other languages) they have a question mark ('?') at the end. This is just for future reference.
Aside: Noone asked you either to post the umpteenth thread about this. And I am making posts again in a troll topic, shame on me for sinking this low again...
