Absolutely. I hate the ending with an undying passion, but the first 30 hours of the game I played was the most incredible experience I've ever had with a video game.
Would You Have Bought ME3 if you knew?

I would have, just not the CE.

I wouldn't have. The fact that the first thirty hours of the game is so intensely enjoyable is what makes the atrocious ending that much more devastating.

I would not have purchased the CE. More than likely, I would have waited for an Origin sale for it to drop to below $20 before picking it up.

I would have, but only because I would never have believed someone else telling me the ending was so bad it woul make me wish I had never heard of ME.

Any mention of the relays destroyed no matter what would have moved it from pre-order to wait for the $9.99 bin... no doubt at all...
Any mention of a StarChildGodThing character introduced five minutes before ending and presented as answer to anything and I may have seriously considered using ThePirateBay or something...

No. The end of ME 2 was close to perfect and I really enjoyed replaying it and ME 1 to see how well or badly I could do. After playing ME 3 I have no motivation to play ME 1, 2 or 3 again because nothing I do has any impact on the outcome, which is A. Bad, B. Bad or C. Bad. Nor am I inclined to spend another cent on Bioware games.
Bethesda Softworks and Eidos must be laughing their heads off.

Probably not, If anything I'd borrow it or something. As it is now I feel like I wasted $60 (unless the endings get better).

If I knew that in the end my choices made no difference?
If I knew the endings were going to be such abominations?
And if I knew there would be gaping plot holes, a dues ex machina, and no closure?
Hell no I wouldn't have. I preordered the game expecting the same quality gameplay and storytelling of the first two Mass Effect games. This is not a mistake I will make with Bioware again.

I probably would have gotten it anyway, to be honest. Unless I knew what the ending actually was, I wouldn't have believed it was this bad.

Short answer: No.
Complete answer:
I didn't know about the endings or the lack of other features like the ones in the previous games. If I did, I would have waited a bit as I was busy with another game that was put on the shelf for ME3. While the other game is addictive, the ME series is more addictive for me.
If I knew about the endings and knew about the upcoming update, I would have waited until after that.
I don't know if I would have waited that long before getting the game without knowing about the update while knowing about the endings. I think I would have gotten it before the month was out at least to see for myself what was all the hub-bub about it.

I would have bought it but I wouldn't have pre-ordered a collectors edition. I probably would have still paid full price for a new one though. The game was still easily worth 60 bucks as it was, I just expected more because of bioware.

It's not letting me edit... Would you hqve bought it if you knew it would have bad endings?
I wouldn't have.
I pre-orderd the DA signature edition and decided afterwards it would be the last time I did that for a Bioware game.
The DLC of that game fixed most of it's problems though, so after paying a good sum that game still scord a 8 in my book.
Only picked up ME3 because I passed a game store, after getting home early, thinking 'why not.'
Now I remember again 'why not.' No more Bioware for me, I think.
Picked up Fallout 3 GOTY, Fallout NV (already had Skyrim) and Bethesda my new money sink

Yes.
It's the journey that counts, not the destination.
Hell, if the destination sucks, just pick another one.

I would have waited to see how Bioware and EA would solve the issue. If the solution didn't match my expectations then I wouldn't have bought the game. But well... I bought it and now I'm waiting to know what the DLC will be made of. If it is only about "clarifications", I won't buy it.

I read the script, so I did know... I was just hoping they changed it...

Honestly, I picked the game up thinking the ending had to do with the "Dark Energy" decision, and thinking that this would be the grandest ME of them all. I went in thinking that this would blow the first two out of the water. If I knew what I know now, thirty days ago, I wouldn't have even bothered with this.

Heh - no. At very least I would have waited for sales or second hand.

Of corse i would! People are way to overreacting and tinking negative GET OVER IT! the ending wern't perfect but it dosn't destroy the Mass Effect series the 3 game is the best game Bioware has ever made and one of the best games I have played (belive me i've played alot of games) it is so tipical that one thing people didn't like and they tink of it and just tink more bad of it each time they give it a tought.

Agreed. I still would have bought the game, but would never have considered shelling out for the collector's edition. Up until the disappointment of the earth mission and ending, it was a superb game. After this, and after all the launch bugs with DA2, I will be waiting for community reactions and possibly the first price drop before I buy another game in these franchises.Xandurpein wrote...
I would never have believed it possible. Still, had I known, I probably would have bought it anyway. I'm just too much of a Mass Effect fan to not want to see it myself. No Collector's edition though.

I would have never bought the collectors edition with that ending. The standard edition? I don't know, I probably would have waited for prices to go down in a few months and bought it then if i was aware how disappointing the ending would be.

I already knew fans were complaining about the ending, but I honestly thought they were overreacting until I beat it for myself. Even so, I enjoyed the rest of the game, and I liked the multiplayer in the demo well enough to want to buy it, so I think I still would have gotten it had I seen the endings beforehand (which I would never do, because I avoid spoilers like the plague).
