I knew there was a furore about the ending, but I did my best to avoid spoilers and got it anyway.
If I had known exactly what was coming I probably would still have played it, but bought the CE? hell no, most likely a rental or bought preowned when the price came right down
Would You Have Bought ME3 if you knew?

Yes, I found ME3, as an overall package (including the terrible ending) a good purchase. An emotional SP campaign + an MP mode to play with friends whom prior to ME3 had no interest in the ME universe, made it a more compelling buy.

Yeah. I spoiled myself the story so I kind of knew before my purchase came. And I would buy it again.

Nope.avi
And after finishing I wish I hadn't gotten started and emotionally involved in the story only to have the rug yanked out from under me in the last 10 minutes.

Wouldn't have preordered, would have waited for a better price and I definitely wouldn't have paid for the CE.

Yeah.
In fact I wish I did know, that would've softened the blow tremendously at the time. But I always try to go spoiler-free.

I would've waited. Did for New Vegas and DA2, didn't make them any better but softened the blow.

100% yes. I'm not a fan of the end. But the game is amazing.

I read the spoilers, I knew how the endings were going to happen. I still pre-ordered the CE, and I don't regret a minute of it.

I bought ME3 because I bought into the marketing talk from the BioWare people. 16 different endings? Wildly different? Wow, that sounded exciting! It sounded like, surely, I could enjoy replaying that game over and over.
Then, halfway through the game, I heard the angry noise of people resenting the ending. I investigated, and my heart sank.
If I had known, I would not have bought the game. If I could *return* this PSN-downloaded version, I totally would.
If BioWare fixes this to my satisfaction, and puts out a Game of the Year edition next year with all the DLC on the disc, I would buy the game again for my PC so I can play it from game one all the way through. If they don't fix the ending, they will never see more of my money.
I'm the kind of consumer who buys a product on several platforms if I'm happy with it. I will also ditch a company if they burn me, and right now I feel burned.

I probably wouldn't have believed it was as bad as everyone was saying and would have got it anyway.

I'd have probably still bought it out of pure disbelief that BioWare could screw it up so badly...
Given the other 99% of ME3's script writing and dialogue is arguably some of the best of the entire franchise, the Genophage mission is an absolute standout for example, I still cannot fathom how they dropped the ball so hard with the ending...

As one who pre-ordered CE.
Yes I would, but from the bargain bin.

If I knew how bad the endings as they stand were, I would still have bought the game, I just wouldn't have gotten the Collectors Edition

I would as I would not have believed it. I heard that the ending sucked balls when I was playing through it for the first time.

I read all the leaks. I also read the ending whine threads a week before the official release.
I bought it anyway. I don't regret it.

No.
Why buy something that destroys the very reason you would purchase it?

I would have refused to believe the ending was as horrific as it is now and bought it no matter wut people said thinking "ah they expect too much, unrealistic expectations etc etc". I was wrong however, the ending beyond blows.

Because the EU release was several days after the US, I knew in advance. Not details, I was avoiding spoilers, but I knew people were unhappy with the endings for some unspecified reason.
I assumed it would just be like DA2, where people went totally against it moaning and complaining about how awful it was, but I actually quite liked it. I assumed it would just be a vocal bunch moaning because they got a sad ending, or because Shepard was going to die, but I didn't mind because I expected that. I assumed it was probably all blown out of proportion, and the ending would be fine. Even while playing through the majority of ME3, I felt the same. This game is brilliant, I'm sure the ending will be great.
Then it happened. Oops, I was wrong.
Fortunately I learn from my mistakes, so I probably won't be investing so heavily into any EA or Bioware franchise again. At least not any time soon. DA3 (if I get it at all) will be bought, pending reviews, once it goes down in price. Probably used. Gone are the days of pre-ordering, and buying all the DLC for the sake of completion.

I already did, i knew of the endings a long time before the release, i knew how terrible they were one week before the game was released. I promised myself to do the entire trilogy and i did. Would i do this again? Probably not

Probably would have only gotten the Standard Edition. I pre-ordered it with a $15 off promo and would have gotten it for $45, but I cancelled and got my full price N7 pre-order shipped instead.

Last time I ever pre-order a collector's edition, I would never have purchased the collectors edition, or pre-ordered any version had I known about this nonsensical ending we received. But I would still have purchased the standard edition, just at a lower price.
