Cannot stand her new face. Looks nothing like her. She feels like a completely different character.

Has anyone found a way to bypass this new encryption system and replaced Ash's ME3 face with her ME1/2 face?

To my knowledge, direct replacement/switching of assets has not been accomplished.

I tried this using the old image with textmod for the face but they don't really match in terms of the model and the image. Lips are too big and stuff, ended up trying to change the new one to match the original but I was not really happy with the results.

I can't say I see much of a difference, to be honest.

I like her new face more.

You should try to accept it too.

Could've sworn I read somewhere that modding the game wasn't allowed. Or does that only apply to certain mods?

She looks like the same person, just with plastic surgery. In the art book they said they redesigned her to be more sexy, but being more sexy didn't fit with her tomboy/grunt personality. She was one of my favorite characters in video games of recent years because she didn't run around with giant ta-tas showing off cleavage.

My god it looks like Michael Jackson. How you can think they look the same is beyond me.

They are the exact same, except for the fact that she hasn't tanned in a while.

This topic is the perfect example what happens when you combine swarm-intelligence ("but everyone else is saying this, too!") with false and selfish expectations towards fanservice ("it's not 100% the same, they screwed it up!"). -.-

That's not "Plastic Surgery". That's the same face, but a bit lighter and with an eyebrow arch. So basically, you're just being racist. You don't like her new whiter skin colour.

Perhaps she has spent more time on starships lately than the colonies she was usually stationed on.

That post is so hilariously wrong.

First of all, the hive mind like Ash's new face in comparison to the old; as evidenced by this thread alone. Secondly, the only reason Ash's face changed was due to fanservice. In the bloody artbook it says they wanted to make her sexier for the consumers.

I'm just sitting here loling at how wrong you are. Good job.

The only evidence that was shown puts Ash's new face against her old one and it looks the same, apart from the hair. Go ahead and make your own comparison shots to prove those posted earlier wrong.

See, I wouldn't have argued if you'd just stated your opinion. Something like "I think that...in my opinion it looks...". Instead it sounded like you insisted that this would be the only truth.

To me it became clear that Ash was not changed to please the audience when I had a closer look on her ingame. Her profile to be more precise, which was always far from "perfect" (as in what society accepts as "beautiful"), showing a slightly hooked nose and all. But that's how she looks and I like it. If Bioware really had the intention on making her beautiful they would've changed that, too.

So laugh as long as you'd like. I enjoy the game meanwhile, playing with the Ash I knew from ME1. :)

PS: Her lipstick is more glossy in comparison to ME1. I guess that makes her a s**t, because only those kind of women try to look beautiful. Right?

Read the artbook. They changed her to make her look sexier for the consumers. It's said explicitly, with absolutely no room for interpretation.

I was laughing at your failed attempt to insult me.

But yeah, she looks like Michael Jackson reincarnate now. It's unfortunate that the hivemind and Bioware's tendency toward fanservice changed Ash's previous appearence.

She looks absolutely like Michael Jackson. Miranda also looks like Michael Jackson. I bet both would win in a lookalike contest, where the real Michael Jackson (if still alive) would compete in. Absolutely, hands down, no questions!

*searching for my glasses and my ability to differantiate between peoples faces*

:o

Sorry man, but in my opinion the "Michael Jackson argument" disqualifies you from any reasonable judgement of Ash's face. I believe what you said about the artbook text, but I think they meant the open hair and the glossy lips.

The face, I'm sure, is the same.

It doesn't help the racelifting and there's, of course, absolutely nothing we can do to alter meshes, but this texmod is an improvement IMO.

Exactly. When they decided to make her look more sexy, well, they contradicted the very concept of the character.

Compared to Samara's cleavage, Miranda's (fantastic) ass, and Liara's DD's, I would say Ash is rather plain.  In fact she does even mention to Shep that while Miranda is fighting in "underwear", she actually wears armor.

I would say letting her hair down is not all that "sexifying", even if that is what they intended to do.

Biggest difference IMO is the make-up, which she doesn't wear in ME1 / 2.
