lol a troll argueing with a meme. Normally i dont feed a troll and wait for their threads to die as people get bored but you sometimes have to award inginuity. Cant wait for his next 'debunking' attempt.

So the counter argument to the hundreds of well thought out posts as to why the ending was just terrible is basically saying "nu-uh!" to an internet meme....

Well played.... ok not really.

Tell me more about how you are the only person who understands a meme is an oversimplification for the purpose of humour.

No, seriously. Nobody in the history of the universe had ever tought of them that way before. You are unique, a prophet to civilization, a guiding light to our puny, undeserving souls.

Or you are just trying to get attention by stating the obvious. I guess I just served your purpose in that case. Bah.

I find it hilarious that people make serious threads to debunk an Xzibit meme joke picture.

Ok..

So the picture becomes..

"Yo Dawg, Your advanced civilizations can create synthetics and you don't wanna be killed by synthetics.

So my advanced civilization created synthetics to kill your advanced civilizations to stop you from being killed by synthetics."

Makes even better sense now.

Stop acting like your IQ own ours, since you probably have less than mine (quite sure), and less than a lot of people around.
Anyway, for your simple mind, I will explain the joke. The picture is a joke to show how the reason is stupid. The reason is over simplified, so we only keep what's important, so you can clearly see the logical flaw.

Here is the EXACT discussion about the reason why the reapers destroy everything :

Starchild : The created will always rebel against creators. But we found a way to stop that from happening. A way to restore order for the next cycle.
Shepard : By wiping out organic life ?
SC : No. We harvest advanced civilizations, leaving the younger ones alone. Just as we left our people alive the last time we were here.

Does it makes a difference ? Since in the end, everyone is harvested, sooner or later. You didn't harvested 50k years before, but we are today. Ok you save organics, so they can live 50K years more. W00t. Awesome. Honestly, I think we would prefer never been born than being destroyed and turn into monsters. Seeing my species destroyed, my planet burning, and my loved ones turned into husks is probably worst than never being born. And anyway, all we have created will be destroyed by the reapers (always happen, so they can shape evolution in the way THEY want).
So, what's the point ?

Shep : But you killed the rest.
SC : We helped them ascend so they could make way for new life, storing the old life in Reaper form.

Imply they makes some sort of "human reaper" from ME2, but with every advanced species they destroy. This is wrong, all reapers looks the same, none of them looks like a prothean, the precedent lifeform harvested. You may argue they store the harvested minds inside the reapers mind, but one can say there is trillion and trillion minds per reapers, and they never become crazy, rebel, or anything. So they either loose all free will, and are no more the being they were, or either it's a plot hole/not this.In any case, this is wrong.

Shep : I think we'd rater keep our old form.
SC : No, you can't... Without us to stop it, synthetics would destroy all organics. We've created this cycle, so that never happens. That's the solution.

Wait.... You created a cycle with the ultimate goal to destroy us, even shaping our evolution (sovereign discussion), so you can easily harvest us ? Why don't you shape our cycle so we never create synthetics ? And how do you know we will created synthetics which will destroy all organic life ? Experience ? If so, why there is still organic life in the galaxy ?

This whole discussion is the part with the most flaw in it in the whole game. Even the synthesis ending, which doesn't makes sense at all, have less flaw.

I think there are a few sad/funny things here:

1) He's attempting to debunk a troll attempt, leading us to debunk him when he's trolling...this is so meta

2) The "logic" isn't that synthetics kill advanced organics, it's that the whole problem was fixed in game via the Geth/Quarian peace. Thus, the "contradiction" is that the reasoning contradicts the in-game narrative. It'd be like finding the God-child to be a Turian, and the Turian saying he wants to kill advanced humans since Turians and Humans can't get along.

3) Even for those who didn't get the peace treaty, the mere existence of Legion disproves the "logic" of the Catalyst.

Thus, the writing is illogical because it contradicts the lore. The catalyst himself isn't necessarily illogical, just ill-informed. And had Bioware included an option to say, "Nah Brah, Geth/Quarian peace. Sup with that brah? Defeat." then the writing would make more sense. But that didn't happen. So the writing doesn't make more sense.

Trololol.

Replying in an epic troll thread. His arguments sure took a lot of work for making less sense than the ending itself.

Luzarius, you seem to ignore the countless videos and articles out there that so blatantly and EASILY point out the MASSIVE plotholes and grave ridiculous excuse of an ending. Anyone who has been a major ME fan since the beginning can point them out to you. You're actually saying people don't "understand" the endings?

PRECISELY, because they make no ****** sense.

I'm glad someone pointed out at least that the AI Star Kid's premise that the "created synthetics will always rebel and wipe out all organic life" is actually a theory.

Since it's never happened in any cycle.  Perhaps it came the closest to happening in "cycle 0" but it didn't happen.

And yes, even if the organics of "cycle 0" saved themselves by becoming Reapers that doesn't change the fact that there isn't a single instance of synthetics wiping out all organic life in the galaxy.  (For obvious reasons).

So the Reapers are a solution to a theoretical threat.

That made me feel great going along with it.  Good job Shepard!

They are simplified because they are meant to be jokes, most jokes are pretty basic...

The OP is correct. I wasn't a fan of the reapers' motives, but at least it makes sense. They 'ascend' advanced species before they have the chance of creating powerful AI technology that would wipe out/replace all organic life. This is the catalyst's way of preserving sentient organic life.

Ascending in a way or another mean they still exist. Do you see any prothean (except javik) "saved" by reapers? Any inusamon ? Any others from countless civilization before ? No. None. Not a single one.

Reapers only harvest advanced civilizations and leave the primitive civilizations alone.

Oh, seriously?! Well that's completely different. It completely makes the concept of the Reapers more logically sound and less morally reprehensible.

I mean, those advanced civilations no longer to deserved to exist anyway!
