Three, I told them to buy the game only if they make the endings better (not necesarilly different, just better).

I have convinced 4 people to buy the game because I told them how awesome it is. They all agreed with me.

Four folks in my gaming group, and three more coworkers. They're waiting to see if the ending is changed via DLC now.

none because its not my place to say buy it or not
people need to go by there own reviews
You lack testosterone.
I've concinved 2 people. Wish it were more but most of my friends/family weren't going to buy it anyway. The 2 people convinced were on the fence.
the best review is a persons own review imo
worst case scenario if people ask me my opinions i tell them to go rent it because i have no idea what type of gamer they are so why should i tell them to spend or not spend 60 bucks on a game they may or may not like?

Two. I didn't say anything, just let them watch the ending. Then I went off on everything else that was lacking.

I've convinced quite a few to buy the game, and they enjoyed it as a whole, like I did.

Got 2 of my co-workers who were on the bench about it to try it out, and also pick up Mass Effect 2 so they could get more back-story. So thats, what? $180.
Oh, I'm sorry. Was this another ending-rage thread?
I'd be curious what their take is working backwards on the story. Likewise how they feel about the trilogy ending after going through 3, then 2, and 1. And if the added context changes how they feel.

My students asked me about it, and I suggested that they play through the first two games if they hadn't already, and then wait until April or so to see what the reaction of others was to the revised content.

Four for certain, and three others of whom I'm not certain. They were on the fence, anyway. They're "Not buying" now, though, so I guess I could say 7.
It makes me so sad, since I've championed this series for 5 years, and the studio for even longer. That just added weight to my negative review, I assume.

None, I encouraged people to buy the game because the series as a whole is still good.
This.
Got one of my friends hooked on ME1 back in the day. He ended up getting 2 and when he asked me how 3 was, I told him great, except the ending sucked.
And if anyone else would ask me, I would still reccomend it. Then warn them about the end. It's up to them to decide if a game that's 95% great is worth buying

None - I still recommend it.
I mention I thought the ending was a let down, but also that 98% of the game is amazing.

I convinced 2 who were worried about the ending to GET it... cause the game is epic and this whole thing is silly. I am currently replaying from ME1 and loving every minute of it

From statements I've made to friends about Bioware/EA's attitude toward gamers, I've prevented two of my friends, that were teetering on dropping cash to acquire the game, from purchasing ME3. That's $100.
About ten people from word of mouth.
Who knows how many from reading my reviews on the various product review websites.
Hold the line!

Convinced a few friends to get it, mostly for co-op. However, they've enjoyed the single-player so far and are talking about going back and getting ME1/2.

Pssh. Nope, I told my friend the ending sucked bad but it was cheaper on Amazon as a result. He bought it.
A good game. A terrible ending.

I've encouraged most people who have asked about it too go ahead and buy it. Just because I don't like the ending doesn't mean they won't. And if they happen to like then why spoil a great game experience because I didn't like 5 minutes of it?

About four or five. I unsold another three by spreading the word that Amazon made an exception to their return policy to a few of my unhappy friends.

I told my a couple of my friends not to buy it for a bit and to wait to see how Bioware responds to the ending controversy. Not trying to keep them from buying it per say, but I'm telling them they probably won't like the ending at all, should wait to see if Bioware amends it somehow and if not wait for it to drop in price.

Two not to buy, one to return before he opened. It's a sad, sad day when I put my BW fanboy flag away.
