None, I encouraged people to buy the game because the series as a hole is still good.
I also thought the series ended up as a hole.

Secretly I was hoping one of my friends actually liked the ending so I could have someone to debate with but that hasnt happened yet.

I just don't understand how you can love something (Mass effect Universe)and tell someone not to experience it. Even if the ending was a let down I just can't understand letting the journey's end spoil the entire experience.

Because the ending is a litteral heartbreak, and apparently we love our friends enough to try and save them of bad experiences.mcgreggers99 wrote...
You guys who are recommending that people NOT buy the game... you do realize that this is more or less a forum for fans of the IP and game?

The journey is incredible, but the destination destroys the merits of the journey and in fact, makes you think about how great it was, and how disappointing is the outcome.

This, Mass effect is still a great series, I am not going to discourage people from a great game cause I am not a bitter "fan" who wants to spite Bioware by trying to prevent others from buying their overall great games because I did not like the ending to one game.Avissel wrote...

I see your point, but I think you're conflating love of Mass Effect and love of ME3 - it's entirely possible that they love ME1 and ME2, but dislike ME3. Loving the ME universe is one of the main reasons people give for disliking the endings. By convincing those who have played ME1 and 2 they may feel they are helping save them from an experience that will damage that players enjoyment of the Mass Effect universe as a whole.
I personally think the rest of the game outweighs the ending, but I've also written my own imagined ending to replace the existing one to cope. I will be switching off after entering the Citadel in future playthroughs.

I lent them my copy because I have no interest in playing it again. That being said, depending on what happens in april they may go out and buy it.

Yeah it's beyond bittersweet...it hurts even, but a main concept in the game is dealing with death and loss. I was unbelievably angry when I first finished it....then I grasped onto the Indoctrination threory because I didn't want it to be over and so bleak. I wanted to save everyone. Then I realized that I couldn't and I felt the ending even more. This game has made so many people feel so deeply. Even if it is painful...I truly think it's better to have experienced an amazing but painful journey than to never have experienced it at all.

I appreciate that line of thought, but the ending just plain sucked. It made no sense with rest of the ME universe. They just totally blew it.
