i haven't told anyone not to buy but i have told that the ending was total bull****. So far, all who i personally know and have played it through have agreed it is bs, except one who thinks it's not good but isn't as harsh as the rest of us.

I didn't stop anybody instead I told them in the end you'll understand why I don't want to talk about ME anymore.

-3, as much as it was painful to see the ending, the rest of the game was mostly good, and the multiplayer is fun. Now I have a full private team to play with

I'm trying to convince a close friend of mine to try the series, though she doesn't have any of the modern systems and her PC isn't too great so it isn't looking good. I think I ranted about the ending to a guy who was partial to buy it, and probably convinced him to not go for it. If someone asks how I liked it I tell them that the first 40 hours are awesome, though the ending isn't all that fantastic.
I'm not a huge extrovert, though, and I usually keep my games private outside the internet.

I wouldn't stop anyone from buying the game because it is a really good game. The endings are dumb but the rest of the game is awesome and worth playing.

you people telling other people to buy the game because the "Journey" outweighs the ending are missing the point.
Why? Still the greatest story I've seen in a video game period. I didn't like the ending but as I stated. I don't believe for one second that this is the full ending. It could be many different things from IT to an additional game. But Bioware has pretty much said this without saying it. So I still have faith in them. Eh, what else can I say? Thats my case.

Honestly, if you love the ME universe, chances are you'll hate the ending because it's contra to the themes of the series.

I spent weeks and weeks and weeks of hype. Almost everyone I know bought the game directly (and ME1+ME2) because of me.
I finished the game before all of them. And I had to sit there for days, and wait. Deflecting questions why I wasn't doing my 2nd play through yet, as to not spoil anything for them. Every last one of them hate the ending, some so much they wish they never played any of the games.
Feels bad man.

13. The people from my guild in SWTOR who were online at the time (and had already played ME 1 and 2) plus two of my RL friend.
To be fair, I tried to keep my critique balanced and point out good things, too. But I have to admit that the ending is not the only thing BioWare should improve.

8, but I have said an ending fix would make the game more than worth it.

2 people will not be buying it until at minimum they see what the "April announcement" is. I told them two things.....1. to buy it used if they do get it so BioWare can't rEAp the benefits of digging their heels in and trying to justify the ending....and 2. IF they fix the ending, buy it new because we need to reward BioWare for that and show them that fixing their product has cost benefits.
1 person I told had already bought the game but said he won't be entering the beam to the citiadel until the ending issue is dealt with. I told him "good choice because whatever your imagination comes up with will be FAR superior to the current ending that only someone on LSD would appreciate."

I dissuaded 29 people from buying it after noticing some initial bad textures in the game. After playing the game, I thought it was actually really good, so I persuaded about 57 (might be 56, not really something I keep count of anyway) people to buy it. Pretty sad I can't persuade the original 29. I guess once some people make up their minds, they don't change it.

If any of my friends yet to buy the game have asked, I've told them that the majority of the playing experience is excellent but warned them that as it stands if they expect a conclusion that reflects the choices they have made in the game they will disapointed.
I have told people only to buy the game if they can enjoy the journey for what it is and to some extent disregard the finale.
I probably haven't stopped anyone but I'm not trying too, I wouldn't want any of my friends to go in blind though.

20-30 honestly. I play WoW and a large number of guildies wanted to get ME3. 3 of us did. 1 guy liked the endings (but he had only played ME3 and agreed there were plotholes but he didn't feel any connection to the characters so he didn't really care) the other guy and I were very vocal about how bad it was. The rest of my guild said they are going to hold off (several bought something else instead) until bioware addresses the endings and me and the other guy give our opinion on it.

I feel a bit evil.
Before it came out I talked most of my game playing friends into playing ME3 so I could play the MP with them, talked them into getting the demo and even a few into playing through 1, 2 in anticipation.
I don't feel that bad, because we've all had a lot of fun with the MP but if not for my desire not to play internet games with randoms I've subjected a few to the end.

Up to now? 2 I surly know off...
But there where about 6 to 8 people in Teamspeak that day, if I remember correctly. Most of them didn't say much to my description of the game (Very good journey but really bad ending, for me destroying the series as a whole.)
Two definitely said that they won't buy the game under these circumstances

So far just 1. Told him to hold off until I see what the DLC is all about.
