Bioware deserves our support, even if they messed up the ending. There is NO other game anywhere near as interactive, immersive and cinematic as this one was and I am a happy customer. And they got really, really good at the core gameplay as the series progressed as well.

I'm more for an old fashioned RPG than interactive movies like DA2 and ME3.  Just my preference.  So I'm not going to support EAware anymore.

No, "interactive movie" is Heavy Rain. ME has actual gameplay.

Right now? Two. but I just pointed them to the ending videos and they made their own choice in the matter.

And bioware doesn't deserve praise for ME3 as it is. You don't give the horse who ran the faster race a medal when he falls at the finish line and gets last place, just because until he fell he was winning.

3; one cousin and two friends, as well as two brothers who have returned their ME3 hard copies.

I tell people the truth. If they don't mind a terrible ending, it's a terrific game. If they mind bad endings, then they should stay away. But all my friends bought it before I knew about the ending, so meh.

If only we applied this rational to other goods like food. Sure you could eat that cake but just know its got maggots at the bottom. You can still totally enjoy the first few layers though!

23 so far but I'm running out of bullets and I think someone on the HMV staff called the police. Might have to scarper soon.

2 from buying ME3, one from the whole series (so it counts as 5 copies?). all they asked was "how was it". i replied, "great... until the ending." so i don't think i'd say it was talking anyone out of it. it was my opinion. bioware should know a thing or two about word of mouth.

I work at a bar/club and so many people see me and some coworkers with ME merch & ask us about it & end up buying the game...
Nothing but good feedback when they come back too ,even the ones who finish it loved it. The worst complaint I got was that the cut scenes at the end were to short...

1, Thing is I didn't really set out to change her mind about buying ME3, She just asked why I had suddenly stopped mentioning ME3.

None, I actually tell my friends to get it, with the warning about the end.[

From statements I've made to friends about Bioware/EA's attitude toward gamers, I've prevented two of my friends, that were teetering on dropping cash to acquire the game, from purchasing ME3.  That's $100.[/quote]

-1. I still tell people that it's a great series, probably my favorite, out of 25 years of playing computer/video RPGs.

Like someone else said, seems strange to go on a fan forum discussing this. To me it would be he same as going on a fan forum for the Sopranos, bragging that you've told people not to watch the Sopranos. Or on a forum dedicated to 'A Song of Fire And Ice/Game of Thrones' that you've told friends to not bother reading the book(s).

Three so far. I've told the one that was going to start getting into the series to wait until it was on sale, and suggested getting ME 1 and 2 when Steam holds one of their $5.00 events.

They'd all heard the endings were bad. Even without spoilers, I could clearly explain why simply by telling them "Replace the final battle in the Emperor's throne room in Return of the Jedi with the last ten minutes of 2001: A Space Oddessy."

I told my friends about my issues with the endings, but I also told them how Bioware is working on addressing the problem.

I convinced one to buy ME2 and it's DLC; he's hoping to get into 3 by the time we get to Bioware's April announcement.

Yes, I agree it is awkward but true fans like true friends will tell you the truth even at the risk of a falling out.

None, I am not in liberty of dictating what they buy or not.
I only inform them what I think about the ending and if they turn out to feel the same way then there's a place they can come and talk about it.

So you're only a true fan if you don't like the ending?

None. I want as many people as possible to experience this game. I can still share my views with others without imposing them on others.

I actually stopped one. He was playing the game, but then found out about the ending and asked me about it.

I told him how I felt and what was wrong and he returned it.

None. I wanted them to experience the ending firsthand. It makes even less sense playing the rest of the game first. So good, then so bad. Plus, I want them to join the movement, which they'll only do if they play the game.

No idea, before the third game I think I managed to get at least 15 people to buy the first one and try out how they like it. Now I've pretty much said "Three great games, but the ending is ****, your choice."

I stopped two of my closer friends, and let some of the other ones buy it because I'm sadistic.

Lol. I think you misread that. That would be like saying you would only be a true friend if you need to say something to your bud that they didn't want to hear.

I've always been a fan. Picked up ME2 and loved it. Went back and got ME1 and really liked it too. Played through many times creating new characters. Couldn't wait for three so I pre-ordered. Played through ME3 and now I find I can't play it again.

I hope that helps make my possition clear.

None.

As others have said, regardless of the ending I still think Mass effect 1-3 is one of the better game series I've played, and as such, I still recommend it to friends, though I also mention that the ending have received a lot of criticism (even if I personally didn't mind it that much).
