None. Anybody I knew that was going to get it did. I probably would have kept silent about the ending as well since I'd want to see their honest reactions. That's what happened, and none were satisfied.

I've told several (friends/coworkers) who preordered the game and were upset with the ending to wait and see Bioware's response. Others that have expressed an interest, I have told to wait until at least April/May.

Here's hoping I don't have to tell them there's no point.

3, they were on the fence for buying it, but I told them to wait for the ending DLC..... and all my other friends told them not to buy it as well.

Got 2 of my co-workers who were on the bench about it to try it out, and also pick up Mass Effect 2 so they could get more back-story. So thats, what? $180.

Oh, I'm sorry. Was this another ending-rage thread?

I'd be curious what their take is working backwards on the story. Likewise how they feel about the trilogy ending after going through 3, then 2, and 1. And if the added context changes how they feel.

In my circle of friends 9 of them are really into Mass Effect (if you include me thats 10 that just loved ME1&2) , 6 of them and myself (total of 7) pre-ordered the game. Not a single one of us liked the ending, and as far as I know I am the only one that visits these forums. The remaining 3 have no plans to buy the game at all, and only 1 of them says they might depending on the DLC.

So out of 10 people total
7 own the game
100% of those 7dislike the ending to various degrees of nerd rage
3 of the 10 are not likely to buy the game preventing $180 in sales
1 of those 10 actually expresses their unhappyness on these forums(that would be me!)

I dont know about the rest of the market, but in my tiny sample the game is an utter flop.

0 I've told my friends what an amazing game it is......just don't expect the same quality in it's ending.

The game is still better than 90% of whats available even with the crappy ending.

Two here.  I told them to at least wait until after the April announcement to see whether or not the ending will improve.

None, I encouraged people to buy the game because the series as a whole is still good.

^ This. Just because the last 10 Minutes are bad, that still makes about 119h 50min great gameplay for the whole series.

I didn't actively tell people not to buy it, but they didn't when they noticed how depressed I was over the ending.

It's my GOTY and I'll not sabotage sales of a game that is among the BEST I have ever played. Ending issues or not. Those two bought the game knowing about the fan reaction. They loved the game anyway.

2, one who'd never gamed was interested until I described the ending, the other has the first 2 games and will now not buy the 3rd.

6 in total right now . Perhaps a few more that I don't know about since my friends end up telling their friends etc

And to be clear

THIS IS NOT ME SABOTAGING ANYTHING

I never said "hey , I hate this company , join the boycott"

It was more like them: "hey , I'm going to buy ME3"

"well , you can , but if you liked ME1 and ME2 then I wouldn't get it ." and gave my reasons etc . That's how I got people not to buy it .

I encouraged 2 people to buy both ME2 and ME3 BEFORE release of ME3. They were indeed disappointed by the ending, but certainly not as frustrated as I am. There seems to be a difference in perception between those who know the series for 2 weeks and those who know it for at least 2 years (yeah, I was late to the party too, but I still started with ME1).
