I tell the people to play it for themselves and make up their own minds.

Yes, it is sabotaging sales. Doesn't matter how you dress it up. Be proud of it, most who do it, yet still demand more (!) sure are proud of it.

I prevented nobody from buying the game but I also didn't encourage anyone.

My friends already bought it. They thought I was exaggerating the ending, but are now fully in agreement that it was awful.

Encouraged people to buy it. Personally I believe there is no need to deprive others of the 99% that was utterly amazing.

3 people

They're now waiting to see what happens and if things don't improve they'll spend the money on something better

2 friends, and I told another to borrow my copy instead of buying his own, so he wouldn't have to pay for it.

None. There aren't that many gamers where I work, and the ones that do play, all pre-ordered ME3 like I did.

I don't even disencourage people from buying it online. I mean, why should I? 99% of the game is fantastic, no matter what you think of the ending.

Or people want Bioware to feel the loss of sales so they fabricate numbers.

one co-worker and after I wrote a post in our guild forums i doubt anyone there will buy ME3.
On the other hand, a friend of mine bought ME3 (he didn't played ME1/2) and plays it in ActionMode (he loves shooter) and he loves it.
i think that's exaclty whats wrong with the game, it focuses on different gamers

No, its that i actually care about my friends time and money. the mass effect series was by and large good, but just because minni made you some of her "famous" Chocolate pudding pie does not mean you should gobble it up.

ya know?

I work retail, and I tell everyone that if they don't want to be depressed by the many plot holes to NOT buy the game, but I also mention that 99% of the game is great.

So far, 4.

-edit- Oh and I told one person who already has it to take it nice and slowly because if at all possible it would be nice for her to download the 'ending fix' before she gets to the end so she won't be horribly scarred by it.

Prevented? None. I have convinced my entire group of friends to buy it, however, and some of the people I know on facebook ... so hopefully I've sold at least a dozen more copies.

I was disappointed with the ending as well, guys, but the rest of the game was awesome and I'm not going to try and destroy Bioware for one stupid mistake.

None. I like most of the game and I don't hate the ending. I just don't love it.

I would recommend the game series. O.o

While think there's issues with the ending, I love the ME series.

Sabotage implies disrupting a system by introducing a force outside of the system .

That's incorrect in this case .

Me telling my friends word of mouth about the game is not outside of the system , it's how game sales work . If someone asks you "oh hey , did you enjoy eating steak at Morton's at the Orange Mall" and I say "dude , no , if you want good expensive steak go to Smith and Wollensky in Las Vegas."

That's not sabotage .

Same thing goes if I go "Hey , Jerry , I hear you wanted to go eat steak at Morton's . Try Smith and Wollensky instead . At least they don't put glass shards into your dessert at the end ."

I present the facts , my friends decide for themselves . Most of my friends who have played through the games with me have either already pre-ordered when I did and regretted it or are no longer interested in getting the game unless it's fixed . That's not sabotage .

Still kinda amazed by people who want Bioware to fix the endings telling people not to buy the game....

Damaging sales reduces chances to get more content dramatically. See "Exalted March", the scrapped DAII expansion.

"Warning" about the endings I could understand...sort of. But actively telling people not to buy it? No.

Four people have not bought the game after I told them about the ending. Bioware got my $80 but they lost all my DLC sales and $240 to get it.

Hold the line for as long as it takes to get new endings.

Please check out this group and join in.

Thank you for your time.

So you let Bioware know you cost them sales, yet want more endings anyway?

I've not actively discouraged anyone from buying it, but I think my reaction to the ending might've put one of my flatmates off buying it.
