How Many People have you Prevented from Buying the Game?

I think I'd choose the friend route.
That being said, I may have gave an honest review that doesn't paint a pretty picture but in no way am I going to tell people not to buy, after all, the BioWare team did make a pretty good game up until the TIM base mission. You can't discount that otherwise your just being a troll. Its true that 90% of this game is pretty good --- I won't bother with the trillionth post about the endings but it was a fine product up to a point.
I say let free will reighn, its more than what they gave Shepard, and you don't want to emulate what destroyed your game would you?!?
To each their own decision, buy it. play it. Discuss it. The more you see going towards the Take-Back camp will just be more vindication that we were right.

Maybe I should rephrase myself. I didn't actually "prevent" anyone from getting it. I just told them the truth that the ending is essentially identical no matter what you do
Except, it's not. The ANIMATION gets re-used, same as in ME2 with the base. The decisions are very different. Unless killing the Reapers, Edi & all synthetics is the same as rewriting every single DNA through synthesis or taking control of the Reapers via...uh...Control.
Implied implications are not good enough. Any middle-school english teacher instructs their students to show not tell. BioWare failed to show. Hell they even failed to tell. All we got were implications and nothing more.

You must feel very proud of yourself. I'm not a douche so I haven't deprived anyone from playing or buying ME3. To deny someone the absolute pleasure of playing this fantastic game just because of the endings is about the dumbest thing I've heard.

Its silly to hold back people from buying anything really, i advised some friends that the 3rd had a terrible ending, but the game itself was still amazing, no reason to tell people not to buy this.
Similar, I told a buddy of mine that unless he enjoys being really pissed off by his entertainment, to wait and see what the fallout of all this mess is. That was the best of multiple reviews he got. He's still holding off.

Interestingly , the ones most opposed to buying it after my recommendation were the ones who recommended ME1 to me in the first place . They felt the most betrayed after I had told them . The only reason those folks hadn't pre-ordered it yet or bought it yet was because at the time they were busy with lots of work .
And that's why I prefer to form my own opinions. I would have missed out on some of my fave games otherwise. But hey, that's just me.
I find this amusing . By your logic I can advertise and say "Come eat my ice cream ! It will leave you satisfied" and I can make it as crappy as I want and no one will say a word because people just keep lining up to buy my crappy product because they shouldn't avoid it regardless of how many people say it's bad .
Gosh , I would be rolling in so much money .
Please , everyone , go out and buy the director's cut DVD of M. Night Shyamalan's "The Last Airbender" . Don't let the reaction to it stop you from giving your money to a washed up director .
Persephone , I heard Fester's Quest and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde were pretty bad games . Why don't you go play them ? You might be missing out on some of your fave games .
Oh I heard this console was horrible:
http://en.wikipedia....iki/Virtual_Boy
Might have some of your favourite games on it , though .
This argument that "one should experience it instead of weighing the opinions of their trusted colleagues" is unrealistic and , in principle , absurd .
I have every respect for you as a person who enjoyed ME3 , but to say that I have no right to discourage my friends from buying a faulty product is incorrect .

Where did I say you had no right again? I simply do not trust others . Esp. on something this polarizing.
I research, play the demo & make up my own bloody mind. That is all. I do not rely on the opinions of others. In anything.
And the endings don't make ME3 a faulty product.
A faulty game = scratched disc, game breaking bugs (Technical, not opinions) & glitches

Nice to see Bioware losing sales thanks to the ending, even if it's only a fraction of people.

And I write it on the forums because Bioware cannot overlook it. We are here to show how disappointed we are, but still hopeful.
If I see a good movie with a truly bad ending (in a narrative sense), I won't recommend it to my friends. The journey is what matters, bu I don't want my destination to be "depressed and confused wonderland".
In fact, almost everybody don't want this. That is why they won't buy the game.
Edit : If Bioware really planned this ending to be the true one, I will find another company to cheer on. We are customers and will give my opinion about a product. And I do it here because Bioware deserves a second chance.

You lack testosterone.
I've concinved 2 people. Wish it were more but most of my friends/family weren't going to buy it anyway. The 2 people convinced were on the fence.

Well, if they come out with an amazing ending DLC and make a great PR announcement about it and stop jerking everyone around, the sales could rebound because the rest of the story is very good. All they have to do is send an "Ending DLC" coupon to the web sites selling the game, and a paper ad to the store selling it. The digital copy doesn't cost that much. Then they can sell all the pre-ending DLC they want.
