She's definitely too nice, and her tweet about Shepard surviving in the red ending with high EMS is already true in the current ending, although it makes no difference for someone like me who doesn't play multiplayer, I can never have a high enough EMS.. Unless I use the save editor and make Diana Allers give me 5000 points! :wizard:

Still don'tplay Multiplayer?
Why don't you give it a try sometimes?
I normally don't play any MP at all, but this can actually be fun.
To be able to play the other races alone is great.
Turian sentinels, Quarian engineers... really nice to play as some of those.

For me personally I can't play the SP campaign at the moment, just can't bring myself to it and the MP provides that bit off Mass Effect I need to quench my thirst.

The purpose of the DLC is totally vague, what if by explaining who the kid is, it suddenly made sense? I want to believe they really have something good in mind.

The other thing is Jessica Merizan talks about "expansion", I don't know if she meant a real expansion or just more DLC, but if they make an expansion like DA:O Awakening, we might still be able to play with Shepard.. I'm just dreaming out loud..

I never had any doubt that there would be DLC's with Shepard, but  what would interest me is, if we get an option where Shep survives and rejoins the crew, will there be more post ending DLC, a la LOTSB or Arrival, which in canon both play out after the suicide mission.

I'm guessing not, since Shepard will definitely die in many games, so this kind of DLC won't make much sense.
(I knw he could have died in the suicide mission, but I'm guessing the number of people who stayed with that ending in their playthroughs was minimal=.

I'll try it someday, it's hard for me to get into multiplayer stuff, it's just not my thing anymore.

I still play the SP, I usually stop at the FOB in London.

I have my own plan to deal with the mess of this ending and the fact this is the end of Shepard's story, I'm working hard on improving my artistic skills with Photoshop, Painter, Zbrush and Mudbox, and one day, I'll be able to paint the scenes I would have wanted to see in the Mass Effect games. ^_^

Yeah I read another article about this earlier, but it was talking specifically about SWTOR. I didn't know you could develop relationships in SWTOR, I don't play it.

Since people are too lazy to read reviews and ratings before buying games for their kids, then the developers should not include anything that might hurt their sensibility. Then we can all have generic games with generic content where people shake hands. And our kids can grow up knowing what diversity means! :wizard:

This is something that really... I don't know, something like this always stupefies me.

Honestly, I'm not saying there aren't homophobes in western europe, maybe there are even as many as in the US, but they wouldn't dare to make a fuss about something like that.

Because in many european countries they'd risk the public's wrath and the ire of journalists and politicians and not just leftist or liberal people, no, even our more conservative party's and news stations wouldshow them as the bad guys.

I can't understand what those people fear so much, do they think there children will turn gay, because they see two men or two women kissing in a videogame?

The gamers, I can understand at least a bit, like it is said in the Forbes article, most of them are probably just kiddies who can't deal with anything out of their ordinary experience, but grown adults...
It's really sad.

@Nylia: You really think if we drive the stock prices to below 10 dollars, they will just ignore us and move on? Good luck with that, you're talking about going bankrupt because you won't please you're fans.

We all spoke about holding the line, do you guys understand this is where it truely comes into play? It's easy to do when your angry and there's an obivious victory in it for us but now? Now we have to first wait and see what they do with this...DLC stuff and then, if it ****s up, we keep making noise. Maybe we don't get the ending for ME3...maybe we do but I for one have gone past that, I want to send a message to EA and Bioware that this is unacceptable to just ignore so many fans wants and desires for a series.

Also by the way it's phrased there may yet be playable parts, we need to wait and see but I for one will contiune to Hold The Line and all of you are welcome to hold it with me, I'd welcome your support as always.

At this point it simply is too early to get all sad about the press release, we will have to wait and see what BW will offer.

There's hope... I understand if people don't want to trust BW anymore, believe me I'n having trouble doing this myself, but at this moment there is nothing else we can do.

Too much of an uproar now, could destroy what support we have in the public eye and with the news.

I want the little blue babies or the house on Rannoch as much as anybody (probably more, since I'm almost obsessed with having a good romantic ending), but we have to hope and wait for now.

Noone wanted a clarification or an expanded ending, but that is all that was offered,
we wanted the errors fixed, not clarified.

I can't believe that this is really all BW will do, but they should just say so and not leave us hanging again. They are continuing to make the worst decisions in how they deak with it.

No cryptic promises, open intent is what's needed now.

The next months will be hard, but I'm with Rosery, we will do what is neccessary and wait and keep holding the line.

I will not let this slide. It is time that gamers stand up and say to companies that enough is enough, that we won't stand for them bull****ting us, scamming us, ****ing with us, lying to us. It's gone on for years and quite frankly it's gone on for years to many. One the first day it was ever done, it had gone on one day to many. I say if they won't listen to us...then we finally say enough and we take the momentum here...and we turn it into a spear head to finally show companies were done being down trodden up. Im giving you a chance bioware, ONE CHANCE EA. **** this up...And see the hell you unleash from loyal fans finally being pushed to far. We've pleaded, we've begged, we've screamed ourselves hoarse. We have a breaking point, it's been reached.

Holding The Line, Now,Tommorow,Till we win.

Well, you certainly were not kidding. I need some time, but I will post something about this when my head clears. I fully plan on staying here. I met everyone here because of this and that has been such a great positive.

Well, I hope this DLC turns into more than it sounds like now, but I'm not dropping the line until I see it and it actually does more than just tell me how colored explosions don't destroy stuff because of :wizard: and the Normandy just happened to crash on the planet of optimal-food-for-all...

I know how you feel, Rosery. I'm gonna quote someone from another post:

If RME falls apart, then gamers will forever be taken advantage of, gaming will forever be a media where big publishers can nickle and dime with no consequence because hey "it's just a video game" RME means much more than just fixing the ending to one of the most important franchises ever, it's about gamers united against big business, RME is gamings occupy movement, and without it, well...we might as well put our money in direct deposit to all of the FUGPUSC's

And to all the detractors against RME, to the people in this forum who claim we can't be pleased, you are the problem with gaming, you are why EA kills companies, you are the atm of big publishers......and so you must be silenced.

If the issue is that big, maybe it's necessary to create a League of Extraordinary Gamers and unite people who are upset at other video games companies for taking advantage of us. =]

Agreed.

I say we take that spear head and shove it straight through Bioware's heart. If this is how they treat us, if this is their idea of listening to the fans, then I say we show the rest of the developing community what happens when you ignore your fans. If we can't have a good ending for Mass Effect, let's have a painful one for Bioware, just like they gave us.

This.

Level heads prevail more often than blind rage. There's been an olive branch,
lets see where it leads before we condemn? As to retake becoming more, I completely agree,
an organization to help prevent gamers being shafted by shoddy practises is an awesome idea,
but maybe best for discussion elsewhere (bit outside the scope of this thread).
and with that in mind:

This is the latest Shields comic - to which I am now well and truly addicted:

Sorry, but...really? You feel like this is an olive branch? The only sort of olive branch I see here is the one they broke off and are beating us with while laughing. For me...condemning is entirely appropriate. They've had their chances and laughed at us every time...well no more. It's time to hit back, and hard.

And to somewhat keep this art-themed...

Fact is, we don't know what the extended ending will contain.
The press release was pure pr speech, carefully phrased, so it didn't sound like admitting defeat and like the fans only had minor problems with the ending.

BW knows what we want, believe me, even if they ignored everything here on the boards, there was enough going on in other parts of the web.
They know what the fans want, they are going to work on the ending.

It's just too soon to "cry havok and let slip the dogs of war."
Wait until the DLC arrives or at least until we get an idea what it will contain.

We've waited years to reach the end of this story, so what are two or three more months?

I feel terrible right now and I wished BW had just forgotten to listen to whoever comes up with those moronic press releases. I would be crushed if the DLC really only explained and ckarified the existing mess, but I'm not going to make ruckuss for months until the DLC arrives.

I'll wait and I see and if the DLC is still another failure, then I#ll raise a fuss again.

I agree with Die, slightly, wait for this to be released. But stay here, stay in contact! It might be a little soon to cry havoc but...if they follow current trends, it may not be uncalled for entirely, however be assured if the time does come to cry havoc. I will be the one crying it first and foremost.

Here's the thing - they told us what it won't contain. New endings. Which is the only thing that can fix this. No amount of clarification or extension will make this RGB crap palatable.

I say it's high time to cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war. If we wait until this DLC is finished, then see how horrible it is, that will be too late. No way in hell will they try a second do-over. Right now, we have a tiny, tiny chance to make them reconsider...to show them that up to this point, we've been nice, we've been playing things fully paragon if you will.

Now it's time to show them our wrath. Not just us, everyone who hated this crap. Rise up, and hit them hard. Demonstrate to them that they do not want to be on our bad side, and that they cannot survive as a company if we turn on them.

Only slightly... that's not very much isn't it. Not even "partially" or "to some extent."

Ouch, just slightly... that hurts.:P

I was so mad after first reading the press release, that I went over the top on another board and started arguing with two people about something completely different and unrelated.
Probably just to vent frustration, but now I'm sort of resigned into waiting and feel the need to take this with a little honey in form of humour.

I believe it's an olive branch because they could just as easily have said they are not going to do anything. They are going to sit down and actually work on something which they are going to give away. That's like a stab to the heart when it comes to EA. And that's more than they would have done had we not existed and had Retake not been founded. Whether that turns out to be a footlong t*rd sub or a footlong tolerable one remains to be seen. Everything that comes out of the "official channels" is total PR speak in which they cannot be seen to "cave" or admit "defeat".

Until I see exactly what comes I'm not giving up on a better ending. If it's to my satisfaction, then fine that's that chapter closed but a new one for retake. If it turns out horrible, well then I'm done with BW simple as that. finito, no more.
I agree the pressure can't be let up for one second until it's done. It's too easy to forget or become complacent - but development of something like this doesn't happen overnight - the fact that several months time has been committed can mean either a wait-it-out attempt or a real honest attempt to make something worthwhile.
