"God, this promotion sucks!" "Waste of time!" "Promotions don't stack, WTF?!"
Would you rather Bioware not do anything at all to keep us engaged? Grow a quad, kids.

I think doing anything to mix things up is great and love participating in these weekends... or at least I'd love to if I could...

A lot of people spent very little time getting every class to 20, next weekend is said to involve promotion and gives a 25% experience bonus to assist in getting characters to 20.
It's announced that you get 150k community promotions for an item and 2 personal for another item.
150k promotions will be done in a day and a half, and be doubled by the end of the weekend.
A lot of people would like promotion to offer other benefits because after this weekend is over it goes back to being 100% ignored because it has no benefit.

I feel for only PS3 owners on this game's front.
Have a copy for PC, and have a ps3 and a copy that my roommate typically plays on. Sucks to retire to the office for a challenge weekend. Would suck even worse to not have it at all.

Heh, grow a quad is right, I've been echoing Wrex with "What do you think this is, Salarian boot camp?" over and over again since the ending controversy ("what, it was unpopular with some people when it was the ending of Inception and hundreds of other pieces of art and literature, many of them classics, but that doesn't mean anyone should change the shocking last 5 seconds of a game that was 50% "ending" just because you're not in the camp that likes that sort of thing")... but don't count on entitlement mentality ending if they really create new ending material that wasn't surprise free DLC already done/in progress at release.
That said, +1 on giving us "everything re-locked bug" victims another update. As you might have guessed I've been fairly patient, unlike most of the 60 pages of pissed off forum members this happened to, but now this event actually interferes with my bug problem. I've been playing with no unlocked, weapons, mods or characters for the better part of the game's existence (besides a few exceptions, like a Salarian engineer from the second [bug] starter pack and the N7 Hurricane from the other week -- take that, people complaining about getting it even though they have dozens of other weapons; I've basically gotta use this weapon every day :innocent: ). The idea being, if I re-unlock something I unlocked before I could lose out on a reimbursement, depending on how they plan to 'help those affected out,' and playing with over a million credits in pocket but very little unlocked seemed better than not playing at all or risking that outcome or other potential problems. The other exception would be my human adepts, who I never clicked "weapons" on (meaning they still have what was last equipped), and who aren't specced/equipped too well, but at least I can play around with a Mattock once in a while if I feel like it.
If I promote adepts, those are gone.
The other problem is my Infiltrators -- I haven't been playing with them since the bug happened, only because they are the only other "proof" (and the only proof that can be seen in a single screen capture compared to a video) with which I can show that the bug happened to me, should such a thing be required. (You see, I got that class to level 20 with a Quarian Infiltrator, but she and the salarian disappeared, leaving the two humans simultaneously both "New" unused characters and Level 20 characters, which is impossible for a guy with like no unlocks unless level 20 was achieved through a re-locked character.)
So I'd really like to go nuts 'playing along' with this weekend's goal, and promote all 6 and then promote as many as I can by sunday night, but as long as I'm lacking information to this degree I probably won't, and I'll continue to hurt my non-weekend-goal game experience, perhaps unnecessarily.
If mods/bioware could clue us in on ANY of the following at all:
A) Has it been deemed not feasible to institute a fix that tosses us us in-game credits according to what was once unlocked?
C) Has it been deemed unnecessary to keep/provide evidence that re-locking happened to us?
D) I hesitate to ask but it's been a lot longer wait than the previous "we're working on it"... have reimbursement / "help" plans, for those affected, been abandoned, or relegated to how to properly give credits only to those who spent bioware points?
That would immediately impact my gameplay, even if I have to patiently wait another month to get a resolution or the specifics answered in total. For instance, a "yes we can see all these re-lock-bugged things in the system, which is why your characters have their old names when re-un-locked, but we're busy figuring out how credits reimbursement will work (because giving items back is impossible), but I have no idea when it will happen or if everyone will be included" leaves half the questions unanswered but would actually make me a lot happier about playing ME3MP. I would fully participate this weekend, promoting without those worries, and I would use these accumulated credits to get a boatload of gear immediately, finally get to check out the asari and turians (probably, anyhow), play infiltrator the first time in a looong while, etc. On the other hand if the items restore thing could still be happening I'll happily hold my course and save my credits for upgrades on top of the things I already had.
I'd really appreciate a few words about this.

That said, I will be working this challenge all weekend long. I plan right from the gate to have 5 promotions for the victory pack (except of course my engineer - 3 power resets invested, and I like to have at least 1 static 20), and plan to get at least 3-4 more by rotating throughout the weekend with my roommate.

also why is there this idea that N7 120 means you are "PRO" but any other number means you are "stupid" on these forums? guess i'm just stupid because i dont get it.
omg im going to break N7 600 this weekend when i promote so i must be f'ning retarded. i must also think the claim of E-peen or whatever is true because i posted that im close to N7 600.
most of you need to get over the fact that my (or anyone else's) N7 is higher than yours, because you are the only one who cares about it.
if you dont want to get a higher number this weekend because you are so LEET then dont promote, but think about how that will lower everyone's chance at the victory pack.
in conclusion stop all the whining about what everyone else's number is and enjoy the game.

Bioware allowed PS3 to participate in last week's event so the only conclusion I can come up with is that they are simply trolling us PS3 users for no good reason. Bravo, Bioware. Simply amazing...
Last weekend event didn't require any tracking.
Which seems to be the heart of the problem regarding Sony. BW needs to track our activity in order to get figures and know if we achieve their goal. Logic dictates that Sony is not ok with a third party company tracking players' activity.

well look like bioware is about to loose a longtime customer. Cant believe the bs excuse they are giving to the ps3 players.
It's Sony. Not Bioware. Sony is overprotective of their users' data since the hack last year.

I'm pretty sure North Korea is exempt from these events.
On another note I think it is absolutely ridiculous that ps3 isns't in these event. I play on xbox but still the fact that they purchased the game and all of the events are occuring which they can't participate in is absolutely ridiculous. Here's hoping that whatever needs to be worked out is so that ps3 users could participate in these events this weekend.

1.) Stop complaining about things that are not directly related to the topic. There are other threads about your issues and spamming here likely won't help you.. in-fact it makes me less sympathetic about your situation.
2.) Why don't we thank Bioware for actually coming up with these events.. and on top of that installing multiplayer in ME3. I anxiously awaited the release of ME3, however, other than keeping the release date in mind I did not keep tabs on every new release. The multiplayer was a pleasant surprise, and on top of that, the weekend events are more than I expected.
3.) To those complaining about N7 Ranking or whatever you want to call it.. come on. A few things. First of all, if you're getting kicked there is probably a good reason. You're trying to do Silver or Gold with an N7 of 30 - I don't want to carry you.. yes, you may be good, great, awesome, whatever.. fact is your Avenger I is worthless. Another reason - and this applies to everyone - when you join the queue be ready to start. We all know matchmaking can take time sometimes.. I surely don't want to spend 2-3 minutes every match waiting for you to "prep" when you could do it before the game.. in between rounds - okay, understandable take a minute or so.
Finally. Back to the topic at hand.
I'll be out of town until Sunday but you can bet I'll be promoting 6 when I get back. Given the response of the first challenge I think the community should have no problem with this. After all, they did give us a warning during last weekends event to use it to level characters for "the upcoming weekend [aka this weekend]."
