you're missing that people want to blame BioWare for everything, even when it makes no sense that BW would purposefully exclude PS3 players from events like this. If that were the case then PS3 players wouldn't have been included in last week's event.

Keep in mind that Sony has never been an easy company for outside developers to work with.

Firstly, didn't sony open up some cross platform gaming with portal 2 or something? Seems like that would be a much bigger deal then some silly little stat tracking.

Its not that we want to blame BW, its that they're not giving us much to go on besides the typical PR "technical limitations".  If they came out with something a little more detailed saying something like "to add packs to specific users accounts we need access to x, and sony won't allow that", then we could go to sony and start asking for BW to get permission for x. 

As of the current promotion though, we know they can track how many times we promote chars, and we know they can add packs to our stores... so i'm having some trouble believing the technical limitations line.

it's likely not an issue of being able to properly track stats, but more an issue of delivering the reward packs to specific accounts instead of just on the store.

I promote my characters, my engineer back to level 1, but points are "-59". I stll keep all the same powers and skills. It happens to anyone here?

Yea... I've done a lot of promoting and I got this bug recently. I used a reset powers card on that character just in case playing with it caused problems.

Yet again PS3 players do not get to either participate, nor benefit from the weekend events.  To blame this on Sony I find a bit underhanded.  With as long as the game was in developement, this could not have been a surprise.  I find it also to be beyond poor business practice on your companies' behalf to not mention to prospective buyers capable of different formats that the PS3 would be indefinitely excluded.  If it was to save sales on the behest of individuals whos only option was to purchase it for the Playstation, shame on you.  Since I would wager to say that my thoughts of 'non disclosure' to the Playstation gaming community was indeed to keep from losing sales; thank you for showing us where your priorities of profit over honesty lay.

Sony says the know nothing about these events and why they are excluded. I still think the ME3 PS3 is the worst version, its only saving grace it that the online play is free and does not lag like single player.

The PC version has all the benefits the PS3 has + better frame rate, character texture/mods, Free online play. The only downside is that the PC version does not support X360/PS3 gamepad (that is the only downside I can think off). X360 has a bigger multiplayer base but it costs money to access multiplayer.

Really sad that the PS3 version is the worst version, this is starting to become a trend.

There should be somebody at Bioware in talks with Sony, right? There is really no reason for me to play multiplayer, since there is no benefit to doing so. Yeah, it was fun for the first weekend, but now holds no appeal to me. I have a
360 but I wanted to import my character from Mass Effect 2, which I got on ps3. That is just a way for Bioware to pass the buck to Sony. I am sure if I call Sony consumer support, they will say it is an issue with Bioware. Again, if it is a problem with Sony, someone from Bioware should be on the phone daily until the problem is resolved. Should I even play and try and promote some of my characters, and after it gets resolved I will get the packs, or should Mass Effect 3 collect some more dust on the shelf.

Once the thing got started I promoted my soldier and my sentinel. Already about to promote my soldier again. Can't wait to get those packs. Wonder if I'll get an N7 weapon this time?

I know I am a bragger but.. it is so cool! I never though I would actually reach this and I made no plan for it, just kept playing and promoting. And I love round numbers, being a metric system kind of guy. I'm the only N7 rating 1000 on the PC. At least for the next minute or so... hehe.

Will they be de facto Spectre packs or will they unlock exclusive weapons?

I'm not a huge fan of the "promotion procedure". I prefer to use my level 20 characters for Silver/gold matches instead of focusing on leaderboards.
I suppose I'll promote two of the classs I use with less frequency just to help the community.

I'm not being funny here, but Sony are hardly going to come out and say "Oh, yes. We've decided not to let our client base participate in those events." - not to mention that contacting Sony support to try and get an answer would be about as useful as contacting EA Support (in other words, they will not know anything about it).

There are probably only a handful of people in each company that know about this issue at the moment and you can pretty much guarantee that they've been instructed by their bosses not to say anything about the issue until (if) it gets resolved.

Plus, is this not history repeating itself here? Hasn't the PS3 version of BioWare games always been plaged with framerate issues, etc?

I'm in this exact position... I Promoted Vanguard and Infiltrator, decided to play Infiltrator to re-level it a little (just unlocked a Widow). Now I have bac the 3 characters I so say Promoted... And the Male Infiltrator i was playing on has vanished... All now have Negaitve points on them :|

The same here (Vanguard and Sentinel come back with -89 Points). Is there any word on this? Did my promotions work/count for the Weekend?

I'll avoid playing them, since you actually do start the game with all skills unlocked .
