I dunno why you guys promoted

They've already said before the bonus xp weekend that "you should save up some characters to reach to level 20 because the next challenge will be about promoting" or something. The reason why there was a 25% xp bonus was for people to get a better chance at getting level 20s early.

No one is forcing you to, if you do not enjoy it then do not participate.  Its pretty simple.

PS3 might not even be able to participate. We'll find out later this week, though.

It is, but when you think about how many people play on xbox and pc alone it would be extremely do able. We would only need 75,000 people to do it if everyone promoted two characters, if everyone promoted 6 total then it would drop down to just 25,000. I could see us reaching this goal easily actually but yes it is definitely a substantial number to promote

As much as I'm loving the MP, this weekend's Operation is a little meh! Takes about two missions to get a Victory Pack, but nonetheless, I'm doing this.

A couple of questions:

Do characters need to be promoted during the promo period, or will prior promotions count towards the goal?

Does it have to be two separate classes or can you promote the same class twice?

Ha, I was thinking that it was going to be Gold extraction this time; I haven't done that yet (granted, I haven't prepared for any Gold matches with equipment; I usually have no missiles and gel).

I have four level 20 characters, so I'll promote them when it starts to do my bit.

No stacking means less promotions. The should give a commendation for promoting 2 and another for six.

That's rather surprising, what changed since Operation Goliath that prompted this exclusion of players (and which players)? Or was it the same and the disclaimer was merely forgotten the first time around?

Hmm, should be able to throw six in, though I suspect I'll have to play a few bronze games before my guys are ready for silver again ... level 6 should do it. Good thing I have a Geth shotty V to get me through. Time to start saving for packs to get me through the low-income stage.

Hopefully we actually have a chance to get the Valkyrie or Argus this time around, Crusader is ok and all, but I'm an AR kind of guy who's missing a Sabre and would like a substitute that doesn't feel like I'm carrying an invalid Elcor around.

 According to www.vgrevolution.com/2012/03/mass-effect-3-operation-raptor-this-weekend/, there is also a 10% XP bonus this weekend. I read the OP a couple of times, maybe I missed it, but I didn't see mention of the XP. Is it for real real or for play play?

Bioware allowed PS3 to participate in last week's event so the only conclusion I can come up with is that they are simply trolling us PS3 users for no good reason. Bravo, Bioware. Simply amazing...
