Thanks for dicking over PS3 users again, Bioware. This'll be the last product of yours and EA's I ever purchase.

You're an idiot for saying that. Blame Sony, not Bioware. Next time you make disingenuous assertions, read the complete description.

As for the contest: What if you've already promoted two characters to Galaxy at War? Is the contest complete for you then?

Yes, run and buy a new console so you can play this weekend's event and perhaps get a neat weapon or two.

Hope I get good stuff this time. My luck has been down since I have yet to get a Black Widow or any of the other N7 gear I want.

Yeah, I can do that too.

Not host, HOSTS. Look it up.

Better yet here's the wiki for you:

http://en.wikipedia....ki/Hosts_(file)

The hosts file is a computer file used in an operating system to map hostnames to IP addresses. The hosts file is a plain text file and is conventionally named hosts.

Name resolution DUH.

Apparently YOU have no idea what DNS does. Do you think switches use DNS? No, they are layer 2. Do you think routers care about DNS? No, they are layer 3. Do you even know what layer 2 is? How about layer 3? DNS is what layer?

Like I said, ignorance is bliss.

Lol. you think they're gonna attack your routers and switches?!? moron.
13 Root DNS Servers. meaning no matter your host file setup, no matter how many IPs you have, you cannot connect to the 13 root servers. period.

One can network their home all day long without internet. but you won;t even be able to access this forum due to lack of access to the INTERNET

But you know what you'll never get either one of them to admit what the problem is.  All you'll hear is blah blah blah blah blah.

Untill one of them gets drunk and blahs insider info about what the f' is going on.  Till then its BioWare pointing a finger at Sony and Sony not knowing what's going on.

I have an Xbox 360, PS3 and a gaming PC.  I have no problem.

And BioWare has never lied?

"Mass Effect 2 on the PS3 is the "definitive" version!"

LOL

What I love the most is that Bioware doesn't explain what these restrictions are for the PS3

Update: Due to restrictions on the PlayStation 3 platform, we are unable to offer Operation Raptor to our PlayStation 3 users. We apologize for this inconvenience and we will continue to work with Sony to extend our weekend Operations to the community.

So why aren't we PS3 users bombarding Sony to ask why the hell we can't participate?

I am! I only found this http://us.playstatio...m/support/ask/ link but I'll be telling any Sony person I can that this is not good enough!

***UPDATE***

I just used the above link to choose the PSN Network category, Online games & chat sub-category, and posted:

"PS3 users are unable to participate in promotional weekends arranged by EA Bioware for the Mass Effect 3 game online. The promotion involves players allowing EA Bioware to track data pertaining to in-game achievements, and to reward participating players for reaching certain milestones.

EA Bioware has stated that "Due to restrictions on the PlayStation 3 platform, we are unable to offer Operation Raptor to our PlayStation 3 users. We apologize for this inconvenience and we will continue to work with Sony to extend our weekend Operations to the community."

Please respond:

1. Is EA Bioware's statement true?

2. If so, what are the restrictions?

3. What action is being taken by Sony to facilitate a means by which PS3 players will be able to participate in future promotional weekends?

Sincerely,"

I concluded with that same answer last night. The reply I got from support was, in short, "Unfortunately, we have not received any details in regards to the Mass
Effect 3 Multiplayer events, and I can only recommend contacting the
software publisher for more information." In which case, they referred me to EA.com.

While I'm also persuing the means of contacting them, I get the despairing feeling that it'll result in an unfortunate runaround that many other people have seem to experienced.

Regardless, I will continue to contact who I can, and believe if everyone attempted to open up whatever lines of communication possible, it may help that much more.

Just a though Bioware how about before you threw this event or planned that it would work with all systems. I just fee left out now and your pushing me to give Mass Effect 3 away. It may not be your fault but your preparation for this is very poor. You should have had the PS3 side fixed weeks before.

That makes no sense. So you think Bioware should not do any of these fun weekend events just because of restrictions from Sony? Blame Sony not Bioware.  Why should PC and 360 owners have to be penalized because of Sony restrictions?

This is dumb people blaming Bioware for restrictions from Sony. Just think a second from a business point of view and do you really think Bioware has something only against PS3 owners or maybe it is Sony's fault? Of course Bioware would prefer to include all.

How can Bioware be working with Sony to fix this if Sony hasn't even been made aware of a problem...

Why not blame Sony AND Bioware? Drag them into the principal's office by their ears and let them argue about which one is at fault!

Because it is the restrictions from Sony why the event can not happen.Bioware is clearly willing to have events and they should not hold back the events for two different systems because of the restrictions of what Sony has done. Bioware gains nothing by excluding the PS3 in fact it hurts them so there is no reason at all that they would not want it on the PS3 also.

Why do Sony fans always see no wrong in Sony? It is always the other guy.

It is EA's servers and EA runs Autolog on PS3 which does all sorts of data collection and sharing in real time all day long. This is not a restriction issue. It is at the very least an issue with Bioware's netcode working with Sony's architecture. Since every other company, including EA owned companies, has had no issues with data collection on PS3 then blame falls solely on Bioware. It is doubtful this can or will be fixed and I would not get my hopes up if you are a PS3 gamer.

Maybe becaus Bioware is owned by EA? :P
My brother showed me a top 10 list of the biggest douchebag companies in USA, EA was top 1.
Though EA is greedy, so I don`t think they wan`t to exclude the PS3 users either, they should know that by doing that they`ll get smaller paychecks.

I for one won`t buy anymore Bioware games if it was becaus they hate us, which I doubt they do.
We bought their game(s), that should be enough for them to like us.
I even bought the CE of ME3(which was abit disappointing, though there would be N7 dogtags in it. I blame EA for that one).

The way I see it, even if Sony IS doing whatever to keep this from happening, Bioware has had these events planned for quite some time. Why didn't they figure all this garbage out before the game was released?

I didn't pay $80 ****ing dollars to be shortchanged at every turn. FIGURE THIS OUT.

No, you have to do it during the promo period.
