not to harp on everyone trying to defend Sony and bio-ware, its a sony after i contacted them sony is very scared that someone could get packet and modify it to do damage to their service so this is why they are doing this to you ps3 users

thast the problem that sony  will not allow a hard connect to  the psn serivce and sharepackets , there bassically scared that  someone could get packet{ yet its very slim that ordinary player would know what to look for if you hacked the ps3 to monitor what  packets you got you would nalso need you computer to be hooked up as well to the hacked ps3}

My question is how did the PS3 MP event issues totally get by QA? I mean, someone had to test it and see that there was an issue? So either this was a known issue and they still decided to release the game on the premise 'meh, we'll fix it later' or someone really dropped the ball on this one.

PS3 players can't get a solid response and are mostly ignored if you read the PS3 support section. PC and 360 have far more responses from Devs on issues there.

I have a lot of friends with the PS3 version and seeing them being told that there are all these weekend MP events but because of some mysterious, non-defined issue, they can't join in. It's been weeks with no updates and no resolution. I can honestly see why they are ticked off.

NOW OPERATION RAPTOR IS HERE AND ONCE AGAIN PS3 OWNERS ARE LEFT HANGING WITH NO EXPLANATION OTHER THAN "TECHNICAL ISSUES WITH THE PS3" WHICH IS UTTER BS. ALL WE WANT IS EQUAL OPPORTUNITY. Unfortunately you're a bit late to the party for that one.

If you didn't get it you were supposed to have contacted support. Even if you contacted support now though, there's nothing they can do as any issued packs expired on the 27th.

Lol thats a good one, tell them you aren't going to buy another bioware product and then demand they fix it, real incentive right there. Also, using all caps doesn't help your case. And sounding like a big whiney baby doesn't either. 

They aren't treating 'you' any differently than any other ps3 user out there, and if there is anyone to feel annoyed at it's probably Sony. 

As a PC user on the other hand, I look forward to this event with great anticipation and excitement. I've got my two classes to promote, and the 150000 promotion goal is easily attainable by the community. 

I just hope I get something good! Come on Hurricane, Valiant, or Crusader!

As a pc user it beats me what would make anyone buy a "shooter" like game for a console... might be me because i cant snipe for my life without a mouse and keyboard :S

But i respect their choice, yet i wish there was a fast answer and solution to these issues, i like playing on consoles too, the whole tv/controls/livingroom experience can be really fun specially with friends, and i think its really unfair for them to be excluded.

Hang in there guys... Hold the line!

As I've said before, I'm probably going to find it hard to buy another Bioware game new, especially on release. Needless to say this also includes anything with the EA logo on it that has MP aspects - 90% of the games I have ever brought that have had MP stuff that EA have had a hand in have given me nothing but trouble. I gave them a chance with ME3, but it's been blown

I might pick up future bioware games... when their either heavily discounted, or second hand, but even that's a big ask with how fed up i am right now

Shooters for consoles are one of the most popular genres on that platform. I mean there have been innumerable titles out there that specifically cater to that audience. They learn how to use a controller just as well as you use a keyboard and mouse.

I've been trying to follow this whole Sony thing, but I don't get it. What's Sony's issue with it? I mean, I am assuming PS3 users can get packs already in MP. How is this any different? What part of the MP events has Sony scared?

Dont want to get in the new "shooters" discussion, but i see your point...
Its just that as a 26 year old as an old fps player that began with wolfeinstein3D who used to rocket jump 24/7 (quake ftw) i just cant simply get the same precision with a console stick than with a razor mouse, and to be honest... ever since call of duty started...  fps players are not quite the same kind of gamers that the genre used to lure...
Guess that with time you can get good with almost any kind of control...

Anyway, hope they continue to do these events and hopefully they will get to include the ps3 players asap.

I find FPS games unnatural with a control pad, but a 3rd person game work ok.


I'd be interested to see the sales figures for PC compared consoles.
