Doesn't that completely belie the point of a community event? Isn't it the point to see how far along we are in accomplishing our goal as a community? I mean we won't even know if we were successful or not untill two days after the event was over, assuming they don't post something. 

They already said last time, that on Monday someone has to pull the numbers from the system, there is no real time statistic. That's why we'll get our packs after they pulled the numbers.

Also, again given the number of people who bought this game, you would only need 75000 people to participate fully, which is an incredibly small number considering. 

What happens if we double their goal, and get 300,000 promotions? Or even get  an additional 50,000 promotions? According to the current rules, increased participation from the community goes totally unrewarded.

There won't be another reward if we exceed the goal. I for one am thankful that there are those events in the first place.

If the community can kill 3 million brutes (or was it one million), a number which is far harder to get considering the rarity of the enemy in the first place (unless they increased the number of brutes per match,I don't know I wasn't around for this one), then it should have no problem promoting well in excess of what the projected goal is.

The average Bronze match with Reapers has around 10+ brutes including the last wave, Silver and Gold have considerably more. Levelling a character to 20 in order to promote it, needs far more Bronze matches given your average XP per match varies around 150k to 200k. Granted, many will have classes around 20 in order to promote them, including me, but not everyone knew of the event as early as us. Thus, promoting 150k classes needs far more time then killing brutes.

While I will agree, with some of what you say (some the people on that forum do seem hostile), I do not share the views of a majority of the people there.  That info I found took about 10 min.  As I said in the thread I posted it in, I don't really know how to look at those numbers, as 360 users and PS3 users are having basicly the same problems.  If the devs are looking at the xbox forum, seeing a problem, then checking the PS3 forum and seeing the same thing, the PS3 forums are not being told the problem is being looked into, as the xbox forums are.  It's the lack of communication that bothers me.  I have no real problems with the game itself.  

Missing a couple of weekend events does kinda suck, however as I said in this thread, I promoted 2 chars just to be with the PC/Xbox community in spirit.  I wish everyone luck on getting the required promotions, and hope all your gear is worth the effort.

No. plain and simple, the info is stated in black and white,m feedback must be ON, and only promoting DURING the event counts. if promoting before the event started was to count...only newbs would actually have to worry about it...

Thought I'd play it safe and promote an Adept and Engineer aswell. Only difference is I leveled them up from 19 to 20 first.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing earlier, so we can see if it registers our progress or that it fails like the purchases.

in the SP game your imported MP squads show up as N7 War assets and i just exported 4 squads and my assest in SP are now 300 pts. So is each squad imported worth 75 points?

so lemme get this straight:

you get an "event" for free..it doesn`t hurt you, it doesn`t alter your gameplay in any negative way and yet still ur complaining bout free stuff? Don`t like , don`t play ...it is just the weekend anyway.
It might suck a bit for the ps3-community, but i doubt that that`s just Biowares fault.
Thumbs up for more events, i realy like this mp-mode..nothing you can play for days, but now and then it`s realy entertaining and fits the ME-franchise quite well.

Are we suppose to receive the Commendation Pack immediately after promoting the 2nd character or is it being given to us at a later date?

It said on the first post "Commendation Pack awarded to individual players upon successful completion" 

It didn't specify a time, so I thought maybe it is being rewarded as soon as you promote your second char. I guess I'll have to wait and see...

Commendation Packs will be awarded to individual soldiers who complete their training, and a Victory Pack will be awarded to everyone if the Allied Goal is achieved. Packs will be available to download the following week.[/b] Please note that participants need to set “Upload Gameplay Feedback” to “on” in the online options to be able to participate in Operation RAPTOR.

Ya for already having two lvl 20's sitting there all I had to do was click promote and I might be able to do a third before tomorrow morning (currently lvl 17)
