Actually, I think that is part of the problem
It is very likely that the reason that these events cant be offered on the playstation network is because it gives equipment packs away for free and sony wants their cut, but you cant get a cut of free.
Thats my guess at least

For all of you complaining about the raptor challange not being offered to the ps3 wel here's some news
The problem isn't with bioware and it isn't there fault, it's PSN's fault for hosting terrible servers and the offer can't extend to ps3 users because the Psn does not support these kinds of events, and to the people saying it isn't fair and that Xbox and Pc users shouldn't be given this challange either? Well we shouldn't be punished just because the Ps3's servers are horrible
We're not asking for you guys to miss out on these events - we're asking to be included, or at least for a PS3 suitable thing while these are fixed. As things stand, we've not been able to take part in either operations Goliath or Raptor. We were, however, included in operation Fortress, which gave a 25% EXP boost, that fed on the events from Operation: Goliath.
Until this problem is fixed, surely Bioware could provide something just to cover things over until they finally get things sorted out, such as special packs, or another boost of some kind to give us an incentive to play online over the weekend period to at least make us feel like we're doing something - though i suspect that idea has just too much common sense in it for a company to actually believe it.
The fact that we're being kept in the dark, with Sony, Bioware and EA all telling us the fault lies with the others, is really starting to wear thin.
I sympathize. But when Sony upgrades their servers, then you get to play the whole thing. As far as kicking you guys free packs or something, don't count on it. That would ease your frustration. Which is what Bioware, and the rest of us, are counting on (your nerdly rage) to complain enough to Sony so they will actually pull the trigger on new servers.

Also, I read that Sony plans on shafting their gaming community anyway, though through the "PS4" leak, which may be unreliable information due to the leak. You won't be able to buy/trade/sell your "PS4" games because they will require a PSN account for you to register your game (and even play it), thus locking it permanently to that account.

For those of you concerned with the PS3 vs Bioware thing. Start demanding transcripts of the dialogues between the companies. Demand evidence of these conversations so that they have to keep each other from fudging the conversations. If they provide this information, then you PS3 folks can start griping at the actual ones blocking you.

Expect this for both console systems. I actually heard this rumor several months ago, but it was regarding the next Xbox. This is where gaming is going, unfortunately.

PC it doesn't matter since it is Bioware/Origins which control that. XBox is pretty much setup for this sort of thing (XBox Live has a lot of ability to quickly add these sorts of packs)

Lol. Recruit packs. Online play. Both free.
We all know Sony is nowhere near as greedy as Microsoft.. I don't see why people keep coming up with excuses why this has to be Sony's fault when every single fact points to Microsoft paying off Bioware.

I have heard different stories about why PSN was excluded, however the one that makes the most sense is that PSN requires a rather lengthy certification process for any downloads done through PSN. That means that an event such as this, which is a) timed, anddoes not have a huge amount of lead time, gets shafted unless it can get fast tracked through Sony's approval process.

a) Freebie/promo packs aren't downloaded through PSN,
c) Microsoft has just as much certification process as Sony.. but again.. promo/bonus/freebie packs are 1-time items that you can't buy, and therefore aren't connected to PSN/XBM.

Hate to say it, but theres a lot more games with free DLC on PSN than XBL (as a subscriber of both services)
Heck, half the DLC for HDN Mk 2 is free, and NISA has been quoted as saying one of the issues with releasing their games on XBL is that the US XBL is against free DLC.

Good example is that the ps3 Mass effect 2 game came with 3 free DLC while the xbox would still cost you another 20$ in dlc's. Still I'm happy with my M$ product.

They came with the 3 currently available DLC's + Genesis at the time, because they we released before the PS3 version was, and is was a way to give something to players who missed ME1 as it was published by MGS.
