Im a fan of the phalanx at the moment.

The gun itself isn't great, but its the best balance of firepower/recharge time for several setups. Some for final builds, some while leveling until you have weight reduction.

Simply put, its by far my most used gun.

Im about n7 180 with 'fex 3.  Gonna be a long wait, but quite awesome when its done (if im still playing at that point).  Till then ill be using the phalanx for 90% of my games.

I'm glad the random unlock system decided to give me 6 Carnifex upgrades in one day. With the Carnifex X, I rarely use any other gun. I also have the Paladin I, but it's just too damn heavy. I love the Widow, but I also don't have the Black Widow or Valiant. The Vindicator is good fun on Turians.

I hear a lot of good things about the Disiple shotty but I don't see the appeal of it. Tried to use it with my asari vanguard and I wasn't too impressed. Am I using it wrong?

Love my black widow and carnifex. About the only guns I use now on any level.

Lots of people clamping over the Saber but the weight and fire rate are not that great. It's not a true semi auto like the mattlock.

Just got a claymore. Might make some use for it. Maybe on a korgan sentinel?

Avenger X is my preferred "sidearm" for my black widowed soldier and infiltrator. It's just so light and reliable.

Mattock - I mostly play weapon centered builds and the Mattock will fire as fast as you finger will click the button without shot loss from lag. From 1 to 10, it just keeps getting better when my sentinel and soldiers use it to pressure groups into a chokepoint.

Viper - Those three extra rounds keeps me cool under the fight because I know I have an extra round in the chamber. The spare rounds on a model 10 means I don't have to use spare clip and can mod for damage and penetration/accuracy.

Hornet and Tempest SMG - A barrel on the former with thermal clip on the latter, both utilizing spare clip is going to give you a damn good time if you manage to attack from the rear or flank of the enemy, just don't fire them from ironsights unless you're in cover or a Turian.

Geth Plasma Shotgun - If you can highlight the enemy with the crosshairs with a charged shot, very good chance you're gonna take down shields and do severe health damage even on silver. Modified accordingly and you rarely have to carry a secondary.

Phalanx - The 'Lanx. I love this pistol, combination of accuracy, rate of fire and stopping power is right. If I'm not running armor piercing on any of my other weapons, the 'Lanx will. Never been caught unawares with a Phalanx as back up.

Agreed, Raptor is my default weapon.
I've tried different weapons on my salarian engineer/asari vanguard and I struggle to be on par with the Raptor.
I just feel that it's overall an OP rifle.
Low weight, built in scope, semi automatic.
With barrel and piercing mod it just melts Atlas and Primes.

Mantis, Saber, Mattock, and Carnifex are the only guns I use. I cant get into shotguns or SMGs though.

n7 valiant (low weight, high damage, fast reload)
disciple (low weight, stagger effect, great for 'caster' characters)
black widow (i don't have it yet, but i imagine it's at least similar to the n7 valiant)

i've heard great things about the carnifex, but i dont have one yet.

Pistols: Carnifex by default. I love using the Paladin but it's too damn heavy now. I also love using the Talon, but it isn't a very good gun. Fun, but I sure as hell wouldn't take it to a gold game.

Shotguns: God bless the Claymore. Some shotguns have complications, like the slow projectile speed & charging of the Graal and GPS. Some are built for rapid fire, some are built for longer distances. Not the Claymore, though. No, you just point the Claymore in the general direction of something you want dead and, if it doesn't die of a heart attack upon seeing you, pull the trigger. So wonderfully simple.

Sniper Rifles: I'm not the best sniper in the world, so I appreciate the margin for error granted by the Black Widow. Javelin sure is fun too, but I wouldn't use it against anything but Cerberus 'cause I can't hit moving targets worth a damn with it.

Assault Rifles: If I feel like screwing around I'll take the Falcon, but I can't take it seriously. The Sabre has potential, but it's so underpowered compared to the pistols. Other than those, I sometimes play bullet-hose Turian with the Revenant.

SMGs: There are SMGs in ME3?

SMG Locust X is pretty much my weapon of choice, it has higher rate of fire, damage and accuracy than the Avenger X. (used with Adepts, Human Sentinels and Engineers)

Geth Assault Rifle (I don't care what others say, that is a fun gun to use. Used with Soldiers)

Revanant ( I don't have one, but I unlocked it in the demo and had alot of fun with it)

N7 Valiant ( I don't really use sniper rifles but I had fun with that gun when I played an Infiltrator. I'm not alway the best shot so I I like that I don't have to reload if I miss the first shot.)

Black Widow = My main money maker
Carnifex (7) = Godly pistol sniper, perfect for bio classes
Mattock (9) = Makes playing a soldier/sentinel somewhat affective

Other than that, the Widow, Phalanx and Avenger X are my go-to guns.
