Garrus. I'm already a better sniper than he is. No need for him.

Ashley - no use for her; that's why I let her perish on Virmire in ME1 :P
In ME3 - Tali, her personality is boring. ...and Liara - for whining over Thessia as if everything was over and she thought she was the only victim.

Liara - She annoyed me so much in ME1 that I deliberately did not do her mission in ME2 in the hope that her assistant would succeed in killing her - what did I get in ME3?- she was the only squad member who could not be killed or booted off the Normandy.

Worse, she continued to make advances towards my Shep, and in my "faithful to Miranda" playthrough, I even had her blue face at the end of the game, at least in my "faithful to Ash" playthrough, it was Ashley's face that.led into the credits.

There were times when the game reminded me of those early BG2 NPC mods, where the main character takes second place to the NPC.

Kaiden, no question. Only character in the series I really just flat out did not like. The decision to either save him or Ashley on Virmire... Well, it basically wasn't really a decision.

Kaiden. Nothing personal against him, just that I've already built up a story with Ash in the past two games. But since squad powers are unlocked through mid to late game dialogue, that means in order to get his two sweet biotic powers I have to spend hours on a throwaway to which I hold no interest. I suppose if I had gotten attached to Kaiden's character but Ash's powers looked attractive the reverse would also be true.

ME1: Kaiden Alenko. Vimire could not come fast enough for me.

ME2: It's between Miranda and Jacob.Constant whining about being "perfect" or "the prize"...

ME3: Steve Cortez. Not because he's gay, but because if I act like a human being towards him and try to give some condolences in his time of grief I'm suddenly in a romance with him. The fact I have to go hard core renegade on him to stop the romance sucks since I feel bad afterwards. Also it seems dickish of Mshep to move in on someone that just lost a life partner.

Jacob, by a very long way - he makes Elcor look edgy and dangerous.

I hated most of the things he said whenever a new crewmate joined the Normandy - my (100%) pure Paragon FemShep wanted to ****-slap him for the things he said.

EDI - as a computer program, she was fine. But morphing her into mech is BS.

That's not what I mean, anyone can get pissed off - especially at troll-master Javik.
She's just boring, imo. Never take her along. :?

What Mass Effect 3 did you play? It's not that hard to avoid romancing Steve. I took the "nice guy" option the whole way through my first time playing and nothing happened.

Jack. Don't like her personality, don't like her wardrobe. She died holding the line on the collector base and I didn't even care.

Jacob, every other character has something to offer. All Jacob does is abandon the war to help a bunch of scientists and if your a femshep who romanced him, he gets another girl pregnant.

Zaeed Massani. He brings absolutely nothing to your squad except a bad attitude.

Zaeed brings attitude and balls to a squad that is sorely lacking any, MShep and Grunt aside. Snarky old mercs make everything better, IMO.
In-game wise, he was basically an anti-armor version of Garrus, which most people would argue is a good thing.

Thank you.

And To all the people hating on Jacob, I don't want to agree, but for the second game in a row, the writers ruined a character with great potential by making him seem weak and incapable. The way he was written here, I'd think Traynor would've been better in a firefight. RIP Jacob Taylor.

Jacob for obvious reasons. Just so bland and uninteresting. Also, he's a cheating lout and acts like it's no big deal at all (just ask a Femshep that romanced him).

Second Third place would be James. Pre-release, he was hyped like crazy. I thought he'd be an awesome addition to the crew, but besides crashing Cerberus's party (hur-hur) and talking with the Commander on two or three occasions, he just hung out in the cargo bay and worked out. The minute I got Ash back, I never used him again. The jerk wouldn't even deal me in on the Citadel. Lol

Edit: Forgot about Allers because I only recruited her in one playthrough and never again. She gets second place. Just a wasted opportunity, altogether...

I am noticing a pattern.. the people romanced Liara all seem to be hating on Tali, while the people who romanced Tali hate Liara. As someone who romanced Tali in my cannon playing, I get that our two fandoms are meant to be mortal enemies, but can;t we get along for once?

This is nothing.

You should see a fight between Aerie and Viconia fans.

And I romanced both Tali and Liara in different playthroughs along with Kaidan, Thane, Garrus, Jack, Miranda and Trayner. I also tried romancing Mordin, Grunt, Legion and Joker but game doesn't seem to let you finish those romances.

I've tried romancing Viconia but I just can't finish it and always wind up with Aerie in the Underdark.

Very bottom: Kaiden, Ashley (annoying, not trusting me)

Close to bottom: Jacob (boring, but I did like that he solutes you and respects you in ME2)

Didn't like Vega at first but he grew on me.
