If they dropped the Cerberus issue on Mar's i think a whole lot more people would of been attracted to her.  Too bad she got the worng end of the stick

Yep. I was looking forward to some BFF time with her in ME3. Instead it took her half of the damn game to finally trust me and we barely spoke afterwards. She didn't even invite Shep to get wasted with her! (which makes the hangover scene even more pathetic).

It's just cause Liara's is the writers pet so they dumped Ashley and went for her.  Ashley at least was always a though son of a gun who spoke her mind.  Liara is just an obessed teenager which i find annoying especially that creepy calamari head.

While I have no doubt the writers lurrve Liara. I'd cool it a bit, saying stuff like that can cause flame wars so easily around here.

I never took Jacob on any missions that i didn't have to. he just stayed in Normandy's armory and cleaned my guns.

yeah he's the only ME2 squad mate I've never used outside of mandatory missions.

Yes, true. Javik was a total d*ck from moment one and I couldn't stand even checking up on him. I couldn't stand him, but at least his very existence in the story was something momentous.

I agree; it's sad to see so many people dislike him. Besides, it's established eventually that he really does care about the crew.

ME1: Kaidan/Liara. Never used Kaidan as soon as I got another squadmate to replace his decrypt/electronic skills. Though as a person he isnt that bad. Liara's voice is just nails on a chalkboard though.

ME2: Jack. I see why people liked her, but wasnt for me. It could have been I was at first expecting someone looking more like Zaeed with a beard or something, i dunno. Only used Jack on her loyalty mission.

ME3: Ashley/Vega/EDI/Liara

Ashley looks like some damn bronze bimbo, looked much better in ME1 personally. If we got more background on Vega I could see him like a bro but I never used him once after Mars. EDI is funny as hell but only used her on one mission just to see how she handled it. Was a really silly option for a squadmate. Liara still has her nails on chalkboard voice, and stalks me and made me feel like I was going to be forced into a relationship with her for the first 1/3 of the game. Her broker resources were useful though.

I liked them all. They all had interesting stories to me. The loyalty missions from ME2 were some of my favorite moments in the game.

The only one that I could say I didn't particularly bond with was Jacob. Maybe it was how the devs wrote him with femShep, but I was annoyed that every time I tried to talk with him, it sounded like she was falling all over him. Even so, I never got the feeling that he was all that interested in her. I'm not particularly surprised how a romance with Jacob turned out in ME3.

James Vega, I suspect his IQ grade is lower than a 6 year old.

Hated Ashley in the first game, her racism irritated me a bit, also her face looked like the face of a horse. In the third game she was improved a bit, but still too horsey for my taste.

Is Kaidan developed better in ME3? (I haven't played a full play through with him yet) or did both VS's just get hosed?

I don't know, I don't think it was the Mars distrust that colored me against her. I kept her over Kaidan in ME1 because she was a pistol. She was right to be angry and cautious in 2 and still hesitant in three.

I think the biggest thing for me was the total pornstar (Meg Ryan in My Mom's New Boyfriend) overhaul they gave her and then the fact that she's missing for the first half of the game. If she hadn't been taken out for that long, I could've gotten more interesting moments with her besides Vega getting her drunk. She was just flotsam after Udina.

Since I didn't take him on a single mission where it wasn't required, I guess I'm obligated to answer Vega. Though Samara kinda hits the same one note over and over.
